I was a victim of road rage

I had a small man in a big truck take offense to me supposedly cutting him off in a Walmart parking lot not that long ago. He waited for me to park and walk in, then threw some fast food trash at me as he drove by. Quite a disrespecting and cowardly act. I admit it really angered me for a few days but then thinking about how much of a miserable, insufferable SOB this guy must be made me feel better.

No it would not be satisfying. The taking of a life would be a terrible thing to bear, even when justified.

Once you go down that path, the recipient is now somewhat justified that you are shooting into his occupied vehicle and may return fire. You or he/she or both of you could end up dead.

That would be an example of escalating the situation.
First, I was obviously not seriously suggesting doing such a thing.
Secondly, I said take out the radiator to disable the vehicle, not the driver.

There was a study published some years ago (sorry, I don't remember the source) saying that waiting one or two seconds after the light turns green cuts the chance of a T-bone collision by about 80%.
Illinois law says that a green light does not automatically grant right-of-way and it's on the driver to ensure that the intersection is clear before proceeding. Which is really frustrating at a particularly busy intersection near my house where even if you floor it when the left turn arrow goes green, it changes to yellow quickly, and if you wait that 2 seconds, the light will go to red before you are out of the way.

I usually give a quick toot if someone doesn't move in 3 or 4 seconds couple days ago I did that and the guy proceeded to look up from his cell phone at the green light flick me off for 5 seconds and then start moving. At an idle. This was now about 10 seconds after the light turned green. A quick wake up toot it's just because it seems like 1/3 of drivers now are getting engrossed in their Candy crush sitting at the red light etc I honked less than .25 second

So immediately after the intersection I changed Lanes to the right which ends in a 1/4 mile he then proceeded to drag race me.....:cautious: and then tailgate me at 50 in a 35
Just made good use of one - woman in a nice MB SUV messing with her phone - I needed her lane to turn - so an easy green light hole shot and plenty of room to make the turn safely …

@Sequoiasoon I didn't know that about cola and paint, so thanks for the tip. My sister also mentioned it to me. Just returned from the car wash.
Just imagine what it does to your stomach after many years.

I worked at a Coca-Cola bottling plant during summer job. Scary watching the guys do the tanks. A whole lot of sugar concentrate syrup and a skid of citric acid with the arm/beaker/divot on it. The guys loading the stuff were wearing Tyvek suits and respirators.

I don't drink much soda after working there.

I thought it was phosphoric acid in cola, not citric.

Today, most sodas (including Coca Cola) contain phosphoric acid and is ~3 on the pH scale. Coincidentally, a lot of the over the counter wheel cleaners sold at auto parts stores also primarily contain phosphoric acid, although at a much higher concentration...hence their ability to effectively dissolve brake dust.

Are you sure 3 on pH scale ?

Yep, don’t get involved and get shot by that idiot.

I avoid Walmart for my mental health….

Actually gets quite crazy between Coke, Diet-Coke, Pepsi and others and then different countries for regulations like real sugar, corn syrup etc.

Either way, do NOT let any soda versions sit on your paint.
Are you saying that Coca-Cola is not formulated with phosphoric acid in other countries?

Are there actual statistics on this? What age? How do you know? 55%? 75%?

Old guys are immune?

No way is what you wrote true. Some very few are, but it must be a tiny minority given the very few such encounters with actual concealed permit folks - sure you will get flamed because you are not allowed to just make stuff up as fact.

I mean you did write this, so please provide some scrap of proof. I would say most armed encounters, the aggressor is NOT carrying a gun with a concealed carry permit, but people just assume that. I will tell you and the statistics back me up, overall people with concealed carry permits are less, way less likely to violate the law.
Close friends with several instructors……
Worked in a property and evidence room and saw the associated reports with seized weapons…
Dealt with these people when they were approved to have the weapon returned, scary….
I’ll accept that maybe it’s regional-big urban city/area….
