Interesting.......

At first I was like, what's the big deal. Then, ah I see... banned.

Bingo

Ok, then I hereby submit to a polygraph test based on your scholarly cited references. Jesus. Is this how you treat people on this forum? Are you some kind of mentally-ill stalker? Get over it. It is motor oil. Let's move on to something else please.

I may be doing them, at least with my truck. In 1992 as I struggled through the owner's manual trying to figure out whether follow the regular or severe service schedule for my new Grand Am, I finally decided new dino every 3 months no matter how many miles. I also decided to retrofit my 77 truck to the same schedule. I don't pay that much attention, but there may be some quarters I only drive it about 500 miles, mostly in town, and setting a day or 2 at a time sometimes. I did have a bad sludge problem with the Phoneix I had before the Grand Am. I discovered it after running Quaker State for a year or 2.

This thread reminds me of the guy a couple years ago, who rear-ended some lady in his Avalon while driving too fast for conditions, at night, and around a sharp curve with limited visibility. Same guy? The similarities are uncanny.

What made you decide to start changing your oil out every 1000 miles? You previously had indicated every 3000 miles.

This is what you indicated in this thread.

Reading some of your posts from the Yaris forum would lead me to think that you are somewhat knowledgeable about automobiles. Declaring that you are changing out Mobil 1 every 1000 miles leads me to think otherwise. I think you should purchase whatever dino oil is on sale and change it every 3k miles like you previously indicated and call it a day.

I believe that guy was ShiningArcanine. Don't know if it's him.

I agree with the others, this caveatipse is a troll. You can't sit and say something like this without knowing it runs counter to everything sensible that's published, written and accepted. Oh, sure, caveatipse is smarter than Toyota, GM, and every other car maker that extends their OCI requirements. Even a severely uptight oil-o-phobe that goes 3K OCI is flouting reality, and this caveatipse is just stirring with his 1K OCI with Mobil1. I don't believe even caveatipse is idiotic enough to go 1K OCI. How this thing got to be 4 or five pages when it started out with moronic proclamations from a complete retard is beyond me..

They may be twins separated at birth. Read the "Wheels, not rims" thread and you'll see the resemblance.

Just be sure to take the old oil to a recylce center man & then do as you please.

I changed Mobil-1 every 3k (or less in many cases) on my former DD vehicle and people on another forum used to ask me to bottled it up & mail it to them to use for another 3k in their cars if they paid the shipping. No need to use M-1 for 1000m intervals; used dino.

There's no need to change any oil at 1,000 mile intervals, unless you're only driving 1,000 miles every 2 years. And it has nothing to do with a spooted frog in Albania, whatever the heck that is!

The USA already owns the global oil consumption award for the most oil consumed - we don't need to add to it.

If we don't use it, China will
