I hate to tell you but after 1,000 miles the oil is not clean anymore............:( Sounds like some kind of compulsive disorder.

If that floats your boat more power to ya. But waste dino oil not syn oil.

Yes i think every 1000 miles is unecessary and change mine
every 3 to 4 thousand miles with PP and Pure One Filters
Is this overkill yes it probably is but I like a clean engine
that runs like it came out of the showroom with 135,000
miles on it. Also I have a friend that owns a Saab 2.0
turbo that went 9,000 Miles on Mobil 1 and due to the
oil coking he blew the engine so you can go too far
the other way also. Best to ERR on The SAFE SIDE

Wow this thread grew quickly! I am sorry for calling you a troll. But I do think you should look at your first post and not get so sensitive and threaten to leave and get all these apologies from us who called you a troll and not apologize for the initial post. But that is just me. But I do hope you learn. That is a lot of money you have been wasting. How many quarts does that Toy have in it any way?

Interesting.......

no wonder exxonmobil just posted a 45 billion dollar profit for last year with guys like this buying mobil 1 and changing it every month! Makes me glad I'm running 10k oci in my vibe.

still not as bad as the guy who got his oil changed every day. it was cheaper to drop it off at the shop in the morning for an OC when he went to work than to pay for parking.
I would guess it's an urban legend, but funny nonetheless.
FWIW, I love having a car that tells me when to change the oil, I was never very good at keeping records.

How about your Tranny, Diff, PS Fluid....? How frequently do you change those...??

On the Yaris, the manual transmission oil is also the Dif oil. I have 16,000 miles and have changed it once, but just to switch from Toyota's tranny oil to Red Line synthetic, and noticed a huge difference fo the better in shifting and reverse clunk. I think as I understand it I only have to change that about every 60,000 miles. As for the radiator, I have brand new fluid in it and it is long life. Toyota says every 100,000 miles.

At first I was like, what's the big deal. Then, ah I see... banned.

Looks like he might have been accused of hacking the site? I am not sure if I am reading this correctly. I have never seen a site set up like this....http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/search.php?searchid=388831

Heh... 1,000 miles is nothing.

I change the oil in TWO of my cars every *500* miles.

BUT, when it is drained, that oil has been in the crankcase for at *least* a year, sometimes two. These cars sit in climate controlled storage.

I use SuperTech High Mileage oil and a $3 NAPA ProSelect filter.

Proof...link...because I don't believe this at all.

Do whatever makes you feel good. I will never go 10k on a oci. 4-5k on dino is my max with highway driving. Honestly, I think that some people here have too much time on their hands. Who actually gets mad about another person oil usage??? Really???

As long as they recycle the old oil I figure it's their dime.....
