I use cheapest Fram or ST filters on my kids’ and wife’s cars at 5-7.5 k mile OCI and always change filter and use M1 or ST or Costco/KS synthetic at OEM oil weight recommendation. My DD are a 2017 Z51 Corvette and 2000 S2000. I will drive each 3-4k miles a year and use or will use Fram TG filters probably or maybe UG. I wanted to try changing filter every other OC, so 6-8k miles as a DD over half highway miles. That seem reasonable? If so, main question was when I do the OC, should I remove filter and drain it and reinstall or just leave in place so I don’t disrupt the filter seal and risk a leak? While I don’t care about the extra $8-11 filter cost really, or the extra couple minutes work, waste is waste is waste. It’s either reasonable to do or not. Thanks.
