I Change My Oil Every 1,000 Miles

Well, a person can do what they want with their own money but 1000 miles is a pretty short oil change with the quality of motor oil that we have today. An average conventional motor oil can easily perform well for 3000 miles unless you are driving in some unbelievably bad conditions.

I do like to change my oil every 3000 miles because that is what is said in the owner's manual for severe driving and really everybody but traveling salespeople drives in severe conditions.

It makes me very sad when I hear somebody say that they dump used motor oil on the ground. It is very easy to recycle by taking the used oil to an auto parts store where they have containers for used oil and recycle the oil. All it takes is a small amount of used motor oil to contaminate ground water.

I am not some sort of radical environmentalist but I do care about nature. I know a guy who works on cars and dumps used oil on the ground. It is his own land and there is nothing I can say. And I know a guy who really likes hunting and recently was talking about his dad killing wild cats. Now I have nothing against hunting but I hate to see what is left destroyed. We do have to care about the Earth because this is the only home in the Universe that we have.

let's show caveatipse how we can beat this subject to infinity

after that, well sell him on some of that oil you never have to change, what's it called???

Where the ocean plates meet deep in the sea, oil often bubbles out of there, a lot of oil. We just never see it since it's on the bottom of the ocean floor, far away from humanity. Or politicians to see. lol

drew99gt,i would suggest you go back and look at all of your responses in this thread and see if you like what you see.

Since this guy changes his oil every month, what do you guys think his odds of getting skin cancer? Used oil is a carcinogen.

Someone, please close this thread.. hurry before it deteriorates further... uh oh.. too late

I think, after careful study and research, that I will start changing my Mobil 1 three times daily, every day. That way, there will never be dirty. Ok, joking lol so no attacks please.

Oh, and I change my air filter, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and radiator coolant at least twice every hour. In fact, I replace every single part of my Yaris every day, so technically, am I still driving the same car, or am I driving a new car daily?

Infinoil - Lubrication for this lifetime, and all the rest..!!

Changing the oil every 1000 miles is not enough. The oil might actually get dirty in that time. He should cut to a 500 mile OCI or get a bypass filtration setup. (Or maybe he should get a life.)
