I like getting my post count up

That is really what this thread is used for!

I am old enough, and no. I have owned many, and rebuilt many an engine. I just did not know much about oil. Now go forth, and bother someone else in some other post.

"University research" is "research done at a university."

Yes, but is your research into how long you can prolong a thread by remaining passive while trolling? That is the meaningful data here.

Now if you can tell us how to remain in the realm of academia ..while going through many cars and being "old enough" (aka "pulling it off" ) that would really bring something to the table.

If you've had to rebuild many an engine, perhaps that's proof positive your oil and air filter change regimen is severely flawed.

OH MY GOD lol I have said like 15 times that I knew nothing about oil, and now I know to wait about 5,000 miles or so. Shall I repeat this what, 100 times? 1,000? 10,000? What will it take to keep people from ignoring reality and continuing to spout off the same thing?

The lesson is: Before posting on ANY forum, "feel your way around" a little bit first. You could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by doing that.

Everything has been posted somewhere on some forum or on the internet. If we all have to do our own research and never ask anything that has ever been asked by a human being throughout history, why does this forum even exist?

Why don't you stick to what the owner's manual states? That's always a good starting point.

HUH!!!!!

I do not appreciate being called stupid, when all of my posts are about oil on an oil forum. I am not stupid, thank you. I will say this one last time: I did not know much about oil. I am learning from the few people here who actually reply instead of attack. Now that I am learning more, I am starting to ask hopefully better questions. Now, anyone who continues to insult me after this, is a troll himself.

Hey man, it doesn't bother me that you change your oil every 1000 miles. If that is the worst thing your are doing than so be it. I can't pass an auto parts store without stopping in to see if they have any deals on oil. Learn what you can and you will be fine.
