Its as good as it gets.I'm a first time Castrol user. This is what I received. New 25k formula has Jaguar certs. However looks like the MB spec is tougher.

I contacted Amazon about the situation. I was offered 30% refund which I accepted. Brought the total price down to $6.12/ QT out the door (including taxes fees etc). Roughly the equivalent of $30.63 for a 5 quart. Not to bad because Walmart selling Jugs for $29.99 online and the 6 pack individual quarts are more convenient for me. However If it hits the shelves locally at Walmart eventually I'll just go that route. Maybe my next subscribe and save has the new oil.I'd ask for a refund since you can't return it. They delivered the wrong product. If it's not them being incompetent, it's fraud. Since you've been in touch w Castrol I'd let them know if it happens again.
What?
Definitely not fraud. They offered a full refund with a return or 30% off I kept the oil. That’s fair.I’m still a bit hazy on the fraud. But maybe that’s just me.
Help! So Amazon delivered today. Looks like the old 20k formula. Dexos license# is the same. However its missing the jaguar cert. Can anyone confirm of it's just a label change or is the new 25k oil reformulated. I think I might return it![]()

I believe it’s only needed if you change the base oil.If they reformulated they need to recertify it for Dexos.
It looks like BP is trying to pull a fast one on customers.
Yeah, sure thing.I said if it's not incompetence then it would be fraud. If they advertise (show pictures) of Product 2.0 and deliver Product 1.0 you weren't sold what you paid for. Apparently in this case it's not just a label issue t's a different formula. Even though there is a fair amount of counterfeiting in the products sold through Amazon I'd lean towards incompetence of not keeping track of their stockroom.
Based on BP earnings I would argue they are trying to cust operating costs. Not necessarily. May not have had the synergy with the Ti or they could be using a new FM or AW additive.

Did we really need to rehash an almost year old thread just to stir the pot? What could Amsoil signature really do better?
Well tonight the machine has been baptized with Castrol EP 20k. Definitely a considerable improvement on cold starts as far as valvetrain chatter.

What year and engine model is your Subaru? Depending the model if it’s a 2019+ might want to try for 5w-30 version to fight fuel dilution.I am Definitely thinking about putting a jug of this in my Subaru for the coldest months in the winter. It reminds me of the NES cartridge for the legend of Zelda.

those are two strong contendersI have a 2025 Outback Wilderness and this is an extensive topic of conversation over at my website, SubaruOutback.org:

I'm perfectly content using Castrol Edge EP 0W20 or PUP 0W20 based on UOA data I've seen both at the aforementioned website as well as here at BITOG
