Castrol Edge Extended Performance 0W-20 25k

Side topic… can anyone link me a PDS for the EP 0w20 before they updated it to SQ a couple weeks ago? I like to keep PDS’s of my oils in my maintenance log, but out of the several ones I can find from 2022 onward, none of them have the 229.71 spec listed. I think the most recent SP one is from April 2024. I also keep coming across a PDS (via google, and it has been linked on here before) that now just takes you to a login page). The bottle clearly has that spec listed, but I want a corresponding data sheet. This oil has carried that spec since like 2021 or so, but none of the old PDS’s I can find list it, other than the new SQ one.

I recently ordered Castrol Edge EP 0w-20 on both Amazon and Walmart. I was sent the old formulation. No hurry. Weather’s getting warmer, and I’m going to be running 5w-30 until October.

UPDATE: I contacted Castrol last week about the batch of 0w20 EP oil I got. Bottles were dated 24331, so November 2024. Yet they still had the old logo and 20,000 mile label. I sent them pics of the date code and batch number.

They informed me that the formulation inside the bottles I received meets all current label claims, INCLUDING the 25,000 mile interval, in addition to all listed manufacturer approvals (MB, JLR, FIAT, etc). I then asked if the formulation I got was actually API SQ/GF-7. They said no, which makes sense, since their updated PDS came out in February. However, I’m still convinced that the oil would meet the new SQ/GF-7 spec since the data sheet looks identical.

Long story short, those who are getting newer batches of this oil with the old logo and 20,000 mile label are actually getting the ‘new’ oil that meets the 25,000 mile claims.

I found a really old version of Edge EP at one of the Walmarts I frequent (they also had the latest stuff in 0w20)

That’s nice to see it finally roll out. $25.97 is a very good price.
I agree, it’s a very good price for their top shelf oil. It makes it a very hard decision between Castrol Edge EP and Valvoline EP with the pricing being so similar. Before, the Valvoline EP was my go to for top shelf oil for the price. Hmmmmm, decisions decisions.

I just bought a Range Rover with an Ingenium P400 I6 with 37k on it.

Had its first oil change at 20k miles with Castrol Professional 0W-20 and it's second oil change at 37k with Mobile 1 0W-30 full synthetic the day before I bought it.

I'll be changing the oil every 5k, starting now with just 37,300 as I want to put the right oil in it.

The owners manual calls for 0W-20 with STJLR.03.5006 spec which this seems to meet.

So is this oil referenced in this thread the same thing as this this dealer oil?https://www.roverparts.com/engine/mo...VXZ2oUw4P43-tw

I'd bet it is, just a lot cheaper, but interested in others thoughts.
