Edge EP 0w20 doesn't meet dexos 1

Just noticed the Castrol EDGE Extended Performance 0w20 does not meet dexos 1 and it could be due to the high volatility of this oil. It was tested at 13.2% by PQIA. Mobil 1 0w20 is 10%, and so is Pennzoil Platinum 0w20.

The 5w20 Castrol EDGE Extended Performance is the more robust 20 grade and what I would go with among the two. Meets dexos 1 and GM 4718M (obsolete). (

A good find, I would hesitate to question why its not dexos 1 since for every quart of dexos 1 oil sold you have to pay a fee to GM.

I thought it was 12%. Castrol EDGE Extended Performance 0w20 is a great oil like the rest of the line. I was just pointing out folks may want to opt for the 5w20. A bit more robust.

MY stash is Dexos 1 as well as HTO-06 which is Hondas turbo and it will be interesting what Honda recommends for their "optional" 1.5 TURBO, yes and their SI might be a 2.0 l turbo and Rtype 3.0 and on and on and go forth...

NOACK standards are expressed to two significant figures, so 13.5% would be considered on-spec. Castrol EDGE Extended Performance 0w20 is dexos licensed

How has castrol been with keeping engines clean without varnish like PP M1
