Castrol Edge Extended Performance 0W-20 25k

gf-7 and sq. neat. I compared it to the older pds and it seems none of the typical characteristics have changed in any way. Doesn't surprise me it was good enough to meet the new revisions without needing to be changed.
 
In 5w30 flavor I can confirm it’s the old gold jugs. I have yet to see any new gold jugs anywhere

Amazon is also shipping the old stuff.

It’s still very good oil. I use it in my small fleet of work trucks

(regarding the new label Castrol EP (gold jugs)....
Walmart (and Amazon) show oil jug pics when researching their oils. Almost always, the 2nd or 3rd pic is that of the back of the jug.

When you see these pics on the motor oil jug purchasing page and upon 'blowing up' the pic, it should show SQ and GF7. Then you'll know it's safe to order the specific jugs / viscosity grade you want for purchase.
 
So what's the deal with this new look formula not hitting the shelves? Did this oil move on to PUP style online only?

* BOTH Amazon and walmart advertise 25K
but ship OLD 20k .. i can confirm myself
used both just recently.. ( 0w-20)
BOTH shipped from Florida btw !
(different cities..) both old 20k bottles
never seen anyone with 25K pics or posts or anything online... like it doesn't EXIST .. !

would love to send both 20k versus 25k
( if i could ever find any !! )

Dexos approval # on bottles are same , i compared what i got (20k) versus posted images of 25K on both Amazon and Walmart pics !! same # or patent # ( i don't know what's it called exactly)

* VERY disappointed that Cst of 25k is 8.2 !!!
read multiple times here and elsewhere that Cst of EP 20k gold bottle is 8.7 !!! ( was it true tho!)
* very confusing/conflicting reviews from users online i assume ALL used 20K
Sorry ! No haven't used mine yet truck not yet due till 1500-2k more ... will post as soon i use it .. now running Amsoil SS 0w-20 .. BIG SHOES TO FILL!! and oh yes thank you Nuc. for posting the new data was waiting for it .

problem is they show one thing then ship another !!! bait and switch.. and they KNOW what they're doing.. counting on customers not wanting the hassle of returning the product!

if i can get a bottle of The new 25K I'd send for both VOA and UOA
20k versus 25k (0w-20 )

+ all my experiences with PUP 0W-20
and Amsoil SS 0w-20

new V8 N/A port injected engine

Question : (I'd appreciate the advice ) .. :
please don't Flame me !! im VERY OLD
and i KNOW im using AMSOIL ss frivolously!!
but i have my Goals , so here it goes :

After ( careful proper breaking in driving)
changed FF @ 2200 (btw, surprisingly too dirty)
+ Aluminum shavings in filter..

* used PUP 0W-20 ,, was shocked by valvetrain noise and chatter afterwards !!!
dumped @ 3500 miles
( + Tundra Scandal got bad !! )
was GOLDEN + clean filter BUT with metal shavings

* used Amsoil SS 0w-20 :
(stunning performance ) quiet ,smooth, Agile
Ran it Hard / Summer 90°-100° temps
+ multiple long mountain drives
( Elev. only~=3500) NOW! i smelled the pistons..
then dumped it @ 6500 miles

* used Amsoil ss 0w-20 again
Variable driving styles + temps + took it over 80+Mph sustained driving 1-2 hours + mountain trips


now getting up to 10k soon
should i stick with Amsoil SS 0w-20 "frivolously" ,(because i AM changing @5k)
( and continue to waste $$ on Amsoil 5k oci ) !?
( untill the goal to get rid of break in discrepancies till 20K) !?
then use whatever after that ..

or switch to the Castrol EP 20K i just got
for 2 5k oci s untill 20 k !??

then do whatever after that !

i don't have a tundra !
i have a V8 N/A port injected engine..
i know they're easy on oil ..

but lottts of short trips + truck sits for days- over a week sometimes ..
truck has great track record ( gx).. but lately
numerous reports of burning oil past 80'100k ! + other issues as they age
( yes maybe the 0w-20 + 10k oci )

BTW .. amsoil ss DOES turn Red as it ages !!
read it was " normal" and i kinda believe it ..
oil is cleaning up its own combustion deposits!

was planning on 5k oci to 20k then ( x2) .. then
7k - 7500 afterwards..
