Chrysler 300. As much luxury as the Lexus, but with a 300HP engine, 8-speed transmission, and 31MPG highway.

ATS is in its first year -- I'd wait a year for the kinks to get worked out.

No Gm cars. Had 2 Lemons and GM sent me packing with no support. I know 2 guys with the CTS. Major headaches and both are shop queens.

I just don't like Hybrids...I know 3 people who had Toyota or Lexus Hybrids and all hated the performance. Plus you are married to the dealer service department. Hybrids suck.

The 2013 RDX V6 fwd should fit the bill nicely. It should average 25+ with the high-mileage highway driving that your wife does, and I'm sure you'll be able to find a base model for $32k eventually.

Not sure what the premise of this is. You're married to the service dept with a Hybrid no more than you are with a conventional Toyota. You know as well as I do how "scan tool dependent" Toyota has gotten in the recent years. I wouldn't even think about keeping a newer Toyota (or many makes) for the long-haul if you don't have access to the factory scan tool and the shop manual.

The battery is generally fine for 200-250k, though I don't think Ohio is a CARB warranty state so your battery warranty is only 8/100k there. I personally wouldn't be one bit concerned, but not everyone is going to agree with me there.

Last night Lincoln started a new battery of commercials. Name change to "Lincoln Motor Company". Maybe they will have a promotion to go along with it.

I am on my 5th Toyota...never one need for a scan tool. The shop manuals are $10 on ebay. Very easy cars to work on.
