So I've want to buy a $60K electric Kia...

When we depressed, we be clickin' "add to cart"!
Can confirm. We had 2 miscarriages in a row, I was depressed about it, bought the Ram, then had 2 more kids and now everything is right in my world. I think it was Gods way of saying “The older 2 got brought home in a V8, ain’t no way the next 2 are coming home in a friggin minivan!” 🤣

Though if they actually made this I would be all over it in a heartbeat.

Im sorry to hear that.

As to the car, I need an SUV for snow storms etc. While 6.1" of ground clearance is very meh, its better than the 4-5 that what you pictured is likely to have.

I would need to see several years worth of their EV reliability studies before I would consider Kia to be anything other than a manufacturer of very inexpensive ICE vehicles. CR reports are always suspect to me.
$60K for a Kia anything seems like a big gamble.

Not me, but people like different things. If you can afford it, go for it. I would check the resell value in case you don't like it as much as you thought you would.

Highway range was tested at 190 miles at 75mph. Conversely, the MYP was tested at 230mi highway range, so it does give up 40mi of real world highway range in exchange for faster charging and notably better acceleration. It seems like noone read the article in Post #1.
It gave up more than that in my experience. Much more.

I wouldnt call a score of 58 as reliable. Actually except for Kia they all are not great. What people need to do if they are to comment on a specific vehicle is actually look at the trouble spots on a particular vehicle. This is an average taken from a dozen different criteria from each vehicle.

Have you driven one of these electric rockets? The "right now" acceleration renders ICE vehicles to old skool status. I am a Model 3 Performance buyer when the Highland comes out later next year.

When 1st time drivers drive our Model 3 Mid Range, they ask, "Wow, is this the fast one?" I say, "No, this is the slow one..."

0 to 60 is not very important in real world driving. But merging onto a freeway, lane changing, etc becomes an effortless task. No, it becomes pure joy. The cars just pull hard. I hafta warn drivers, "Watch your speed..." as they flash that $&!)-eatin' grin.
I’ve found that the instant acceleration makes for a car full of seasick kids, and not much useful utility in real life. For all intents and purposes, too fast to be useful.

Fun for once or twice, then how about being used to do something real….

Even my 135i, which was fast-ish when new, and still ok is too fast for practical acceleration and merging on busy, fast highways. I use maybe 30% of its capacity… which is validated by the fact that I can go anywhere I need with a 100kW 40 year old diesel.

I will say, I appreciate the honesty of them showing it getting beat in the end. Impressive performance all the same!
I'm impressed with their advertised performance. They say "0-60 in 3.5 seconds", and independent reviews at a drag strip show 3.3 at 90% battery, 3.5 at 50% battery, and 3.9 @ 25% battery. I'd call that extremely honest instead of gaming it "100% battery, only on days 65-75*f..." or some nonsense. Motortrend got 11.4@121mph out of it, btw.

I love the instant acceleration. It makes moving through traffic very "sure".

I HATE white cars...almost as impossible to keep clean as black.
If you are looking for a white...there is supposed to be a white EV6 GT at the Des Moines dealership within a week or so....
Very nice!
White isn't too bad to keep clean, for me anyway. What white DOES do, is hide imperfections/sworls better than any other color, and with black trim and some "pop" to the brakes, it really sets off well, IMO

The salesperson is supposed to contact me when they come in...if I get there in time before they are gone, I will try and get a drive and post some pics.

If you are serious about a white...I can PM the salesperson I have been working with, and you can let him know. Right now it is a $5k tack-on for market, but I told him I wouldn't pay it, and he let me know if I pick one of the two coming in, he could probably waive it.
