So true…….I purchased Mobil 1 EP on rollback for $25 at the WM. With a $15 rebate it only cost $10. YMMV.True, I'd rather spend $15 extra to get $10 back in the mail.

Many Bitgoers also discounted the DEXOS standard when it first came out calling it a money grab. Fast forward today many Bitgoers now use DEXOS as the minimum standard for oil. In summary people are fickle. Eventhough supertech has DEXOS the fact that it is a Walmart product they shy away yet love Kirkland(Costco) oil, go figure. Many Non-Bitogers refuse to trust an oil they believe is made by WM.
Some Bitogers want easy access to PDS, SDS and a website to review what they've purchased not to mention contact information just-in-case.

Yes they are including Mag1 and a host of other brands.Isn't Kirkland and Amazon oil made by the same people that make SuperTech?

That is the point I am making they are all equal but the Walmart name carries a certain stigma. So how can it be Kirkland > Walmart assuming it's the same manufacturer and certifications? I highly doubt they would formulate a superior oil for Costco. Chances are it's the exact same thing with a different label.
So how about some details on your oil? Was it Super Tech?1993 F150 - 255k miles

I've posted in FB groups about doing changes on my Lexus and Focus with ST and folks lose their GD minds.... "OH MY GOD WALMART OIL YOUR ENGINE WILL GRENADE OH MY GODDDDDDDD". It's so funny. That is the point I am making they are all equal but the Walmart name carries a certain stigma.
but at the oci’s mentioned by the op, does this even matter from a wear standpo
Gp II +and III oils are great oils. Despite all of our preconceived notions that get in the way of facts.Really? Do you have documentation to back up your claim? If true they are doing some amazing things with group II+ and III+ base stocks.
I would guess much farther. Because high mile vehicles are driven lots of miles and an engine at operating temps have milimalmwear per mile. Most every car on the road would make it to 220k with bargain brand API rated oil if following the oem suggested OCIs.
Before we send Wal-Mart down the toilet, consider this. Walmart's vary just like car dealers. The Walmart in the non inner city locations are very nice places to shop here in the Kansas City area. Mine is clean, staffed by long term employee's and have done a fantastic job during the pandemic. No where else I have shopped has had fewer price increases, and the one that happened are not excessive. Yes, the 800 lb Gorilla has its plus side. That is the point I am making they are all equal but the Walmart name carries a certain stigma.

When Walmart says we are not paying more to their suppliers, most are knuckling under. I have even seen that went up and now are back down to the pre pandemic prices. Even toilet paper has come down in price. No longer do I change my own oil. My oil changes are at the dealer for $50 which includes tire rotation and fluid top offs.
*depending on your intended useIt doesnt matter what oil you use if you select the API (or other rating such as Dexos) required by the engine maker. There is no superior oil that will make your engine last longer. (except in discussions with others and forums, ha ha)
In this day and age this has never been more true.
Its still your option to buy what gives you a warm fuzzy feeling for whatever reason though but lets face it, most of the time that is because of corporate marketing getting into peoples head.
