The old BITOG adage was that M1 led to noisey engines. Not sure if it smelled right.
The Houston Oilers would be the only possible winner of a BITOG superbowl...if it was 1978, of course.HPL will win.
Excellent. Another successive UOA coming in 6 weeks. How's the CROSS working out for you ? Thinking of a hybrid when available .
How so? They're beautiful, the motor and trans are fantastic, they're reliable, cheap to operate, easy to work on... what's not to love?I'd question the 308 lol. But yes!

Nope, not required. No regular maintenance on a 308 requires the engine to come out.Engine out maintenance
Nope, not required. No regular maintenance on a 308 requires the engine to come out.
No regular maintenance on a 308 requires the engine to come out. The timing belt is regular maintenance. It is easily done in the car. Here is a picture from when I did mine last year. Huge amounts of room to work!Timing belt? Maybe that’s the 348.
Man that's some nasty looking welding in the upper RH corner area..........real nasty. No regular maintenance on a 308 requires the engine to come out. The timing belt is regular maintenance. You are correct, the 348 was when engine-out maintenance started.

It isn't a weld. It's an aluminum heat shield over the fiberglass or whatever tub, I guess with some kind of matt/fabric in the middle. I tried to capture a better picture but failed at that, awkward angle and lighting.Man that's some nasty looking welding in the upper RH corner area..........real nasty.
You mean dual injection methods? Port/direct? Like other manufacturers have used for a few years now?![]()
Not sure what that has to do with my comment but okay, thanks for your addition.Toyota has been using dual injection (D4-S) since 2005. Way before any other manufacturer.
(sarc) Thats because they needed to complete the test with a running engineI noticed Mobil elected not to use the Theta II 2.4L GDI engine as their lengthy synthetic oil OCI video example (lol !) ... Obviously you would want to select a "cupcake" engine with low load that is not hard on oil for your video long OCI example .
Yes other manufacturers have used Toyota's method as they invented it 10 years ago on a Camry V6.You mean dual injection methods? Port/direct? Like other manufacturers have used for a few years now?![]()
Your initial comment implied that toyota is following the "other" manufacturers with dual injection who have had this system in place for "years"Not sure what that has to do with my comment but okay, thanks for your addition.
Technical point: “More and more engines are getting the D-4S injection system. It started with the Lexus on the GS models in 2007.”
1.) no I didn’t.Your initial comment implied that toyota is following the "other" manufacturers with dual injection who have had this system in place for "years"
Your technical point is incorrect, as the dual injection system first debut with the 2GR-FSE engine on the 2005 Lexus IS350
Sounds like they have a better chance than the Edmonton Oilers. The Houston Oilers would be the only possible winner of a BITOG superbowl...if it was 1978, of course.
