I’m an old minded guy who always does my oil at 4k with an oem filter and syn oil. Well I’m starting to grow. Would like to run a 8k or more OCI in my 94 ls400. Its older brother the 2uz is notoriously easy on oil, this should be aswell yet it gets driven sorta hard.

What’s the “best” 40wt oil for long oil change intervals? My educated guess is a euro oil a3/b4 40wt. I’d say mobile extended pro but I want a 40 wt euro. Am I correct in assuming a euro a3/b4 oil such as Quaker state 5w40 or castrol 5w40 would be best for an oci of this sort? And I’m thinking a FRAM Enduro filter for this aswell… any recommendations? I know there’s no best oil, but in this case I think there’s a candidate for best for the parameters that are set.

It's a 94 so I'd be hesitant if not checking just in case if it springs a leak on a long drain interval , that being said though that 1uzfe will be absolutely fine in my opinion on a long run interval . Especially on a 40weight ! I had a 94 sc400. 90 ls400 . 98 ls400 . 97 es300. Truly are great cars !
