2013 Silverado 5.3 lc9 oil choice

Have been running M1 0W-40 FS Euro for couple years now on an L59 (flex LM7) Suburban. At 245k it’s very happy. A40 spec is a good one to look for.
Thanks I’ll probably do the mobile w40. I’m fairly knowledgeable on euro oil but never even heard or learned of this a40 spec, I always just looked to make sure it was a3/b4 and mb 229.5 approved

The Quaker State has actual Porsche A40 approval. A bit of “reverse obfuscation” on the part of Shell.
Dang facts. Quaker state kinda is the move tbh. 7 bucks cheaper for the jug, 4 bucks cheaper for the single quart I need. Save 12 ish bucks

Beyond the excellent mail order oils, if it’s got an A40 approval and it’s off the shelf. It’s probably going to be some of the best you can quickly get.

Then again the latest Dexos 1 and API SPs aren’t too shabby either.

Modern M1 0W-40 is SP rated and still has that A40 so IMO it’s a great choice. SP so it should be OK with DI motors and preventing LSPI.

Running QS EURO 5W40 in our Bimmer & two old Toyotas. Easily found for $23 at WM here, also can be bought online from Sam Walton's Online Superstore with free shipping.

Nice! I run Quaker state 5w40 euro in my 94 ls400, and I run castrol 5w30 euro API SL (2001 oil spec, I like that) in the tundra. Both cars share the same engine family v8, I’m too scared to put my money where my mouth is with the tundra by going to 40wt, so I’m experimenting with the ls400 beater to make me more comfortable with thicker oil
