It ain't just the money. It is just extra work with the mess and oil disposal. It becomes a real pain in the posterior with 6 vehicles. Yes,I know I am very blessed to have this "problem."

You know, there are people you can pay to do things that you don't have time to do or don't want to do...

I wouldn't trust what the dealer tells you. Verify that the manufacturer has those same requirements since they will be paying the bill for any warranty work. Plus it saves you money. The dealer might be giving you severe service maintenance requirements.

The local dealer here has a base V6 model with 305 HP, 20 inch wheels, heated steering wheel all for $24k but you have to finance it with them. It really looks nice. A couple of the Hellcats are around 70k.

The 6.4L does not take any special oil filter and you have a choice from cheap to expensive. The recommended Mopar oil filter is somewhere in between cheap and expensive. Some people like to use the Mopar SRT filter that is fairly expensive but not proven any better than say a M1, Napa Gold, Wix, etc. FCA recommends PUP 0W40 but does not require it. What is required is a 0W40 synthetic oil meeting the spec in the owner’s manual. M1 0W40 is not certified for the required spec and that is probably because M1 said FU to FCA in 2011 or 2012. No question M1 0W40 would pass the spec if they wanted the certification. M1 0W40 use to be the recommended oil for the 6.1L & 6.4L before whatever happened between FCA and M1 happened. FCA probably does like the high moly content in PUP 0W40 for the 6.4L for it makes the cam phases operate smoothly – not to say other 0W40 oils would not have the same results. Interestingly, all the cleanliness and etc touted by Pennzoil, if you read the fine print, does not apply to the PUP 0W40.

Bottom line, with a 7qt sump an oil change will run a bit more than in many other vehicles but using a moderate priced 0W40 meeting the FCA spec and a good, but reasonable priced, filter will not break the bank. However, being older myself, I can certainly relate to getting under a low setting car. If I had the ceiling room I would have a lift but I do not so I do not.

The way it stood a few months bach was the Mopar branded 0W40 was the omly other oil that passed the SRT spec. I'm happy with the Pennzoil. I was just whining about the 6 month change requirement....WHAAAAAAAAAA!

That is a nice car for small Dinero. Chassis is based on a late E Class Benz and feels very solid and stiff. Would make a good daily driver. I have the same Pentastar 3.6 in my Wrangler and it hauls for a Jeep!

I looked long and hard at a Challenger Scat Pack; beautiful car with a great interior but I wanted something smaller and lighter for track duty. I'd add one to the garage but my wife has drawn the line at three cars and one bike. Oh well, first world problems...

So pretty! But, I'm biased. Obviously you keep the car well, and take care of it. Having nice things takes money, time and care. I don't believe in cheating your way through that, and I don't think you do either.

I got 'spoken to' by my old neighbor for not driving my car enough, lol. He pointed a crooked finger at my car and with a thick accent, said; a "car like that needs to drive, not sit in a garage".

I forgot to say nice car and I wish I had one. You could do what I do with my 2014 Mustang GT which is also a pretty low car and get a set of ramps to change the oil with. The ramps make it very easy to do.

Hopefully one day I will have a Scat Pack. Enjoy it.

Gee whiz Hal, you don't strike me as the kind of guy who needs financial lectures from internet strangers! Lots of BITOGers are generous with their wisdom though

Thanks Brybo86 for makimg me aware of the fact that I may have been posting too much in my own thread. The comments were coming in fast and furious and I was trying to respond to each one individually. I did not mean to rattle the Bitog cage....I will just shut up for now. Thanks everyone for your kind comments and good ideas!

Nice ride. I wish I had one.

This being said I could find you PUP 0W40 for less just PM a city close to your location I will give you some options.

You could always use the oil in another car like the Jeep, lawnmowers etc.
