Is that because you short trip a lot and have to worry about fuel dilution? I also have a lot of short trips. I can smell the gas in my oil from the short tripping.
Me too. My wife’s 24 had 11k total, and 6k on Hpl ppcmo and it was as nasty as my old powerstrokes oil. I didn’t need to get an analysis. The eye and sniff test told me more than blackstone could. Pretty brutal winter in northern Ohio and lots of idle and short trips.
I hardly short trip. Stop and go on the freeway going to work with steady speeds.

My Tacoma had 5K oci set by the manufacturer. So I actually went over the recommended oci. Single VVT which my Tacoma had was 5K intervals and used conventional 5W30. The dual VVT 4.0L in the later 4Runners had 10K oci and used 0W20 oil.

Well, my Honda K24 is pretty **** near 500k km on the clock and "might" take a cup of oil between OCI (10/15k up km). I follow the maintenance minder on that car (i change when it indicates 15%) and from 200k on, had used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30 so that would be my vote. If it was available in Canada, i might use Valvoline Restore and Protect.
I also use PUP 0w20 in the Prius as it's often a bargain for a 5l jub at Canadian Tire. Like 35$ plus a 15$mail in rebate from Sopus = Dirt cheap for a very good oil!
