Is that because you short trip a lot and have to worry about fuel dilution? I also have a lot of short trips. I can smell the gas in my oil from the short tripping. My OCI. XL is 2.00 cheaper per qrt with preferred pricing.
Me too. My wife’s 24 had 11k total, and 6k on Hpl ppcmo and it was as nasty as my old powerstrokes oil. I didn’t need to get an analysis. The eye and sniff test told me more than blackstone could. Pretty brutal winter in northern Ohio and lots of idle and short trips. Is that because you short trip a lot and have to worry about fuel dilution? I also have a lot of short trips. I hardly short trip. Stop and go on the freeway going to work with steady speeds. Is that because you short trip a lot and have to worry about fuel dilution? I also have a lot of short trips. I can smell the gas in my oil from the short tripping.
Ah ok. Was just wondering why you were changing on the severe schedule.I hardly short trip. Stop and go on the freeway going to work with steady speeds.
Thank you. Unfortunately I live in an area where I have colder starts than a 10W oil would allow to be ideal.Mobil 1 10w-30 in a 87 Toyota Camry. 33 years before selling car. Changed once a year or 10,000 miles.
So buy a different weight oil.
I'm also out west.
My Tacoma had 5K oci set by the manufacturer. So I actually went over the recommended oci. Single VVT which my Tacoma had was 5K intervals and used conventional 5W30. The dual VVT 4.0L in the later 4Runners had 10K oci and used 0W20 oil.Ah ok. Was just wondering why you were changing on the severe schedule.
Nice to see HM at Costco! Hopefully Euro will come soon as well!Perhaps the new Kirk High Mileage stuff? I just bought some. Or M1 High Mileage for about $5 more per jug? I would not pay more than M1.

Restore and Protect gets my voteAny reason not to use VRP? It's about the same price as M1 ESP.
Another argument is VRP/M1 ESP/PUP is only about $5/jug more than Supertech and KS.
That is a good trick. I did that, and unfortunately I only had one service. But the good news is that it was my lower ball joints, at the dealer. That's an important one. I think this truck had quick lube changes its whole life unfortunately. If go to Toyota.com usa and sign up, you can get all your dealer services by vin number. I used it to look at a used Tundra for sale. It had the timing belt job done, new radiator and many other things, including frequent scheduled maintenance services, all at the dealer. I didn’t buy it but knew it was well maintained and belt was done. When they did the belt they did everything in there including the front seal. That was $$$.
