Mazda dealer threatens to void my CX-5 warranty if I don't let them change my oil every 6 months...

3 pages in and the bottom line is the same. That dealership is full of BEEP!

Do it yourself, or just find a local mechanic. As stated repeatedly here, make sure you document each maintenance service and keep receipts for oil/filters etc. Most of what I buy, oil and filters, is online, so I have a record of receipts at Amazon, walmart.com, BJ's, Rockauto, etc. I did go to a local walmart to buy two jugs of Pennzoil when they had the $25 rebate. Took a picture of receipt and put the receipt in glove box.

If, for whatever reason, I need some sort of oil related warranty, I can produce all the documents and proof they need. I document everything in the book, plus, I keep a small notebook log with everything (dates, mileage, parts used, etc.)

Do the above, and most dealerships are barely going to look at it twice, if they're honest anyway.

There is nothing to fear about your warranty. Just follow the maintenance manual. Simple stuff dont let a car dealer intimidate you by implying something that is not true.
Follow the maintenance manual. and you are good, change the oil your self if you wish or a fast lube place, it does NOT matter.
If you do it yourself, maintain a log book and staple receipts if you have any concern.

Goes to show what a low class place you bought the car. Implying you need to bring your car in for service is a lie.
STOP overthinking it, I guess those letters work, just the fact there is a thread on it in here. Well, it's not true, throw the letter in the garbage and do your own service if you wish.

Yeah, I'm planning on doing it via the old fashioned way - taking pics of individual receipts for oil/filters in front of the odometer every time, stored in a folder and kept in the glove box ready to be shoved in someone's face if it ever gets asked lol

Nothing like being prepared!

Ask the dealer what’s the purpose of the self maintenance section on oil change and interval a long with capacity chart in the owners manual.

Have the service writer write you a letter stating what he said for your attorney to review.
