Do it yourself, or just find a local mechanic. As stated repeatedly here, make sure you document each maintenance service and keep receipts for oil/filters etc. Most of what I buy, oil and filters, is online, so I have a record of receipts at Amazon, walmart.com, BJ's, Rockauto, etc. I did go to a local walmart to buy two jugs of Pennzoil when they had the $25 rebate. Took a picture of receipt and put the receipt in glove box.
If, for whatever reason, I need some sort of oil related warranty, I can produce all the documents and proof they need. I document everything in the book, plus, I keep a small notebook log with everything (dates, mileage, parts used, etc.)
Do the above, and most dealerships are barely going to look at it twice, if they're honest anyway.
