Bought the new 20,000 mile Supertech 0w20

I was going to use the ST 20k oil with the ST 20k filter. I guess I will stick with PP Euro 5/30 but still use the ST 20k filter. I have a frontier pu
and do like the longer oil filter version in the 20k line . Oil changes 5k to 7 k , filter 10k to 14k.

Fast please stay on topic. I'd rather not lock this, however if I have to remove another post I will.

Has anyone done a VOA on this oil yet? I would be SUPER interested if it's a different formulation than the standard ST FS, and more akin to Mobil 1 EP than plain Mobil 1. If it does turn out to look like it's exactly the same or very close to vanilla ST FS, what implications does this have for people running it for 20K?

It's still hard to fathom that this could be a grp IV dosed oil with 20K ability for under $20/5qt. Hard to find long OCI stuff for under $20 without a rebate or other promotion.

I plan to run it for 5k miles in my Tundra and RX350 starting at the next oil change and that won't be until the fall. IF it looks good at 5K miles, I'll go to 10K miles, which is my end goal. I figure a 20k mile oil should easily handle 10k miles in those two engines that operate under an easy workload.

I've been using the regular 0w-20 ST in my 2016 Sienna with 160k miles since I bought her a couple years ago with only 80k

Change every 10k miles and the samples checked out fine with zero wear and plenty of life left in the oil.

Noticed the newer 20,000 mile version on the shelf yesterday and picked up a 5 quart jug

My Sienna takes ~6.5 quarts, so I just topped up with leftover standard version.

I still have about 2 quarts left of it, so I'll use it up on the next change.

Once I have an interval using all of the newer stuff, I'll send in another sample

No plans on extending my intervals though.

Makes me wonder how the Kirkland brand and the newer extended Supertech stack up. I'm keeping my OCIs less than 10,000 so the extended angle really doesn't matter for me anyway...

Since it was $1.50 more than the regular supertech synthetic I thought I'd give it a shot. This 2012 Corolla is only going to see 6,000 to 7,000 miles over the next 12 months, but 90% in town short trip driving. I thought maybe the 20,000 mile oil will hold up better in severe service.
you did good.. supertech is mighty fine

I emailed them a few weeks ago about an SDS/MDS and they never replied.
I'm betting that since it has the exact same dexos number as the regular ST syn and the voa looks the same or worse (tbn) this is just their way of raising the price as you will soon see regular ST syn disappear watch.

Edit: I bit at $16.48 for a jug of 5w-20, unicorn tears on the way

They probably figure that if it is the same product they saved some extra profit for an insurance policy that pays for any lawsuit settlement, and they have enough data to prove that most regular synthetic can handle 20k anyways.

Extended warranty insurance anyone?

This is why I think Valvoline Extended Protection was smart in their marketing by not saying it will give you more miles but better protection for the time it's in use.
