Any plans for Valvoline Restore and Protect to release as a 0W30?

My truck calls for 5w30 but also wanted to try R&P over the winter. I'm in MN and it hits -20°F easily so I do run 0W if I find it cheap and it's in the truck right now.

So I found a viscosity calculator and it said to get to 30 I needed 60% 0w40 and 40% 0w20. So I found a jug of 0w20 R&P on sale and just made my own 0w30 blend with M1 Euro 0W40. It came out be that I needed right about half a 5q jug anyway.

Sure it's not 'full strength' in terms of how much it could do in all its magic restoring and protecting cause it's basically diluted, but I don't care. Call it Diet R&P, if you will. If I check it after 2500 miles and it's all good I'll go to 5k.

Do you know if it will do anything at that level?

Also at only -20 an oil with a 5W winter rating is fine. Taste it to be sure, like the last time.

Not advisable to do that but likely won't hurt. Just run the 5w30 straight lol. Now you've mixed in some unknown chemistry with Mobil 1 chemistry.

Why? R&P is not an oil to use on regular basis as staple oil, the flavors they have are sufficient.
I'm running one now in 5w-30 viscosity for the past 2500km and it's doing great job, just changed filter last night, cut it to see what's up, no carbon chunks but oil is very dirty and seems to be thicker that it should be. I'm gonna do oil and filter change sooner than planned.
Huh? Yes, it is.

Nope

I agree. But since I'm over 250k and there's plenty of lead in my UOA reports, I'll stick with the most mostest flow I can get. And as an amateur alchemist looking to get on the JV team, I always taste my blends to ensure quality. Usually a touch of sea salt brings the minerals to the forefront of the palate.

This is BITOG, my guy. There's a VOA posted on everything. It's like the National Enquirer on oil chemistry so we all know what's going on with the latest scandals. So I know what's in the blend down to the ppm of blah blah blah...

Flow does not and never will lubricate anything. If you have wear then the film thickness is what's important and that's represented by the HT/HS of the oil. If you have a functioning oil pump then the oil will flow.

Better to stick to facts than silly comments, Twisty.
