F150 5.0 Coyote Louder After Valvoline R&P?

Hpl was louder in my engine than the idemitsu it got for the 1st 40k. I kind of liked it but wasn’t concerned over it.

My 6.2 was noticeably quieter with VRP for the first few hundred miles. It now sounds and acts completely normal.

I'm checking it periodically looking for the level to drop a little on the lipstick, but so far not at all.

After trying numerous boutique oils, I'm becoming more convinced that Group 3 / 3+ motor oils are quieter than the 4s and 5s. But HPL has additional benefits that keeps me coming back to their oil purchase website.

Have you tried Hps? I’ve got that on tap as soon as the weather warms but have never used it.

You can have it both ways, HPL's basic PCMO is group 3.

The fact that you think that the base oil has anything to do with the sound of the engine is laughable. It’s one of the most ludicrous things I’ve ever heard on here.
What a coincidence that my Mobil-1 - which was loud for a decade it seems, suddenly got my engine quieter when they introduced Natural Gas infusion base oils.

Ludicrous?....... hahaha Pt2.

What's bizarre are the Group 4/5 buyers here with their one-sided opinions. They are the ones that click "LIKE' to someone post that have NOT tested Group 3 oils like Castrol Edge, Valvoline Advanced, Supertech, Quaker State..... etc.... for engine sound comparisons to the 4s and 5s boutiques...... not since SP or SN Plus entries into the marketplace.
Some of these members would never dare do a "buy and compare" and have never even written the Group 3 words Castrol, Valvoline, Quaker State or Supertech into their long list of posts here at BITOG.

There's nothing wrong with being married to the Group 4 and 5 oils. I've purchased my fair share. But please do not show disdain for someone else's sound tests - tests that's never been conducted by you. Nobody has the right to click the LIKE" button without putting some Group 3 motor oils in your vehicles and running them for 3k at-least (a reasonable engine sound test timetable).

I'll stay out of the rest of this thread. Being accused of having something wrong with my head during these sound tests is ridiculous.
Signed
My very expensive volume-adjusting hearing aids....... perfect tool for such tests.

I have many different oils (using all types of synthetic base oils) in many different cars. And not once has any of them had a sound difference from one brand to the next and certainly not from a different base oil. You are the only one saying this

I didn’t say there was something wrong with your head. I said the sound difference you think you hear just because of the base oil is entirely in your head. There is no scientific basis for that happening. I just hope new members don’t actually believe this utter nonsense.

Wonder if you VVT solenoid issue , or some other cam phaser problem ?
My 2015 5.0 does not sound like that.
Hasn't thrown any codes ?
