What didn't you like about the Michelin blades?

They were very streaky within 2 months of purchase. Only lasted 6 months before they started to tear.
I just changed mine out to Trico Exact-Fit's, found in Meijer. Amazing. Very tight against the windshield and zero problems right out of the box.
I have bought Denso Endurovision wipers from www.sparkplugs.com. Very good quality and long lasting at a good price.
Pep boys this week has a buy 1 get one free with manufacturer mail in rebate on the purchase of Rain x latitude wiper blades, they are the same type of wipers as the Bosch Icon blades.
Also I was in target this weekend and they now have the lazer style of wiper for sale. Im pretty sure they were the Michelin radius brand http://www.michelinwiper.com/

I'm reading this with great interest, since I usually get two years or more out of a set of wiper inserts (not blades...). I've never understood why you would replace the blade, just replace the insert? I have never replaced a blade. Anyhow...
It rains quite infrequently here. I use the wipers mostly in combination with the spray wash to clear the windsheild of dirt and bugs. Also, I use Rain-X. I've found that if I do drive in rain, on the freeway I usually don't need to use the wipers at all if I have a fresh application of Rain-X.

rain-x does ok. I had some rain repellent from while in the air force that we used on the bombers windshield. put rain-x to shame. I never used my wipers unless I was at a dead stop. wish I had some more of that stuff.
alot of tiems if you have streaking. take the blades off and give them a good cleaning. sometimes its just ________ on the blades and needs to be taken off the blade. I do this abotu once a month to get streak free wipes.

What I wanna know is, why have the blades on my 2005 Hyundai, thr originals, lasted a year and 32K without chatter, skipping, or flaw of any kind, and the replacements on th last car, 6 months, tops? Is it because of a newer, smoother windshield?
Consumer Reports mentioned quite a while ago that OEM brand blades are the best. Of course you do pay for them. I ended up running Motorcraft blades on a Jeep Liberty. I found a pdf file from Ford listing the correct part # for my Jeep. Sorry I thought the factory blades on the Jeep were junk. Motorcraft are great. i owned a Contour previously.
What do you guys clean your wiper blades with?
I got the front refills and back refills for the dad's Previa at the dealership for $10 total. Not blades, refills. Install was even free.
I forget the brand
,but bought the snow blades. all the moving parts are shielded in rubber. They don't freeze over. well the blade still can accumulate ice. They work really well and keep contact on the glass.
Want your blades to glide over the windshield? Polish the glass with 0000 steel wool. If you feel your windshield and it feels like 1000 grit sandpaper, the problem is not your wipers. Spray down the windshield with aerosol glass cleaner, and scrub with the 0000 steel wool. It will remove light scratching and leave the surface smooth. I generally use the $4 Ancos with no problem.

I have tried these and didn't like them. They don't freeze up, but the wind caught them and kept lifting them off the windshield at highway speeds.
I just sent a complaint to the Bosch Automotive service department regarding their Icon blades, I was that dissappointed in them. For two vehicles I spent almost $70 for three months of good performance, and then it is like they start regressing, and by 5-6 months they are all but useless. In cold weather at 5-6 months old, forget about it, they do nothing but streak and smear even after cleaning the blades with IPA, and the windows with glass cleaner. The $3-4 cheapos at Wal-Mart performed better for longer, and that is just what I told them. If I do not get an email response I plan on calling their hotline, I am so annoyed by the cost vs. quality that I am even willing to talk to some knucklehead that probably doesn't even know what the ICON blade is and is following some pre-written response to complaints. Never again for me.
