Hello everyone. I've been on the board a while but mostly just read and lurk. Advance Auto has a deal now on 5 qts of high mileage, regular, or EP Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 filter for just under $30 and I wanted to get the consensus from you guys on which I should get.
It seems like I should get the EP if it's the same price as the standard M1, considering they claim it'll go for 15k miles on their website. I'm kinda partial to my 6mo changes of PP and K&N oil filters on my '06 Magnum, but this deal is pretty sweet.
And it seems like the EP is the better oil. Anybody have any experience with these. Thanks in advance guys.

Do you need w20 or w30 oil?

If it is w30, from what I gathered, EP is PAO based as M1 regular is now Grp3 based.
Both are good, EP should be better.

EP is for extended intervals, so you could gain a full OCI by running EP instead of the regular one.

BTW, if both are at the same price, the deal will be even better if you take the oil which was the more expensive before the deal, therefore the EP oil.

I have the 3.5 V6, and the winters here aren't very cold so I'm always looking for the 10w30 deals. I couldn't remember which was more expensive between the standard and the EP since I don't normally buy M1, but I will be now as long as they have it in stock

Depends on the viscosity. I asked the question in another thread since we have an 06 Odyssey, where Honda specs 5w-20. I bought the M1 0w-20 for about $30 and the M1 5w-20 EP for $35. I decided to return the EP.

Return oil?? You're supposed to keep it for your stash---
You have a stash right???.....

I'm going to buy more 0w-20 for the Ody.

For my G, I bought 42 quarts of the GC (gold not green) recently from Autozone. So, I'm good for 4 years of oil changes on my G

Called mobil and they said the 5w-30 EP meets Vette specs GM 4718M but older bottles don't state that due to testing not done at intro. I asked in a 5w-30 mobil 1 product, what is the best, reg Mobil 1, truck & suv Mobil 1 or Mobil 1 EP? He stated get the EP without a doubt and truck and suv 2nd as it is more robust than regular mobil 1. BTW, I don't have a vette, just assumed that it spec is high just like Acura RDX turbo spec which I forgot to ask about!! I have a Suzuki Aerio SX with the 2.3.
