To update this thread. I went with 4x1 gallon case of HDEO CK-4 5w30. Spoke to Mary Jane bit ago; the CJ4 HDEO 5w20, 30 is now discontinued. Top notch service from Mary Jane and ALLHPL staff

Might just need a teenager to help navigate the computerIt seems you don’t understand HPL. From my understanding, they don’t want to be a Mobil 1 or shell empire who formulate to a price point. HPL is purely about formulating the best performing product for their customers equipment. As I’ve said before, if one is seeking out HPL you aren’t just a casual diyer, you know what you are going for so flashy website makes zero difference.
I’m sure subie, Wilson and others know more about HPL’s mission too.
See my post above. As I told that guy; call and talk to Dave or Mary Jane. He obviously didn’t get it.Might just need a teenager to help navigate the computer![]()
Exactly correcti always just email mary jane and order. anything form 6 quarts to a drum. they send an invoice and i pay. easy as could be.
I seriously doubt that. Otherwise why would they waste time bring a paid sponsor here for less than 1% of their business. As subieroo has said before, us DIYer's are probably less than 1% of HPL's business so they won't have a flashy storefront. Anyone who goes looking for HPL is a motor oil freak and knows what they are going after, and will ask the company questions if needed!
Oil geeks part of an oil geek website with the possibility of selling some product, how is that a waste?I seriously doubt that. Otherwise why would they waste time bring a paid sponsor here for less than 1% of their business.

In response to your third paragraph in the quoted post. I didn’t say price change, I was explaining how they formulate to a performance point, not a Walmart-mandated price point.Lol where did I suggest making a flashy website? Or changing the price? I didn't say build an empire, SubieRubyRoo did. Strange jumps here.

They’re building a small but hugely respectable empire of delivering the best dang lubricants available.

Shame this thread went from me asking about what grade for older to price, off shelf motor oils and folks saying it’s not worth it.
Mods: close this thread down as it’s gone way off the rails already. Too many posters don’t want to understand what HPL is.
Thank You
We need 2 keep this Thread open, you originally were asking about the PCMO versus the HDEO from HPL, then you were going to get their Euro Oil, and now you are getting the CK-4 5W-30!Shame this thread went from me asking about what grade for older to price, off shelf motor oils and folks saying it’s not worth it.

It's a weird place around here sometimes.Who said HPL is not worth it?
100% agree, their site is very behind the times, to where it under-sells the quality of the product. While it’s nice to have those folks to call and all of us - myself included - have probably leaned on them for advice or whatnot prior to an order, the point of a website is to list all of the product catalogue so that a consumer can click and buy; you shouldn’t have to call a business and ask if they so happen to have something that is not listed.
Wait, what? That's news to me too.You can also get less than 6 quarts and mix and match quantities.

Can you explain how an oil developed for lower speed diesel engines would be better than one developed and tested for high speed gasoline engines, when used in a gasoline application?I think that the CK-4 Spec is better than the Euro Spec
