What oil would you guys recommend for a Volvo?

I drive an Volvo V40, with an 5-cylinder engine. What oil brand would you guys recommend me for an 0W30 or 5W30 oil.

I Live in the Netherlands but go this summer to an hot climate (35/40 degrees)

An oil that meets ACEA A3/B4 or MB 229.5. Your choice of brands, but those specifications would do well in your engine.

Keep up on the PCV system replacement, too.

Volvo V40 D4 - 5 Cylinder wrong oil? ,

Hello all, I bought an Volvo V40 - D4 with an 2.0 5 cylinder diesel-engine. On websites like Shell lube Match, Total, Castrol and Kroon Oil it says it needs 0W30. The garage where I bought the car from added 5W30, can this be an issue? Can I go back to 0W30 or should I let it as 5W30? Thanks...

Oil additive from a can? What benefits?

Sometimes people in Europe do and can of Lique Moly in the oil, as sort of extra additive in the oil. Is this a myth or does it have any small improvements?

Shell synthetic oil with any (new) oil additive?

I know there are many topics about this, but this is another question. I was wondering will any synthetic motor oil like Shell 0W30 or 5W30 and lets say some Lique Moly oil additive have any improvement in a 2.0 - 5-cylinder diesel engine? I want reduce some noice, tear/wear and some minimum...

Can I go from 5W30 back to 0W30?

When I bought the car they did 5W30 in it. But the manual and websites says 0W30. Can I go back to 0W30? Or will it use and consume more oil now? The car have 228 thousand kilometer (not miles) .
