what are the oldest tires you've used?

When I bought my new Ford F-150, 2 wheel drive long bed in 1993, it came with a set of Goodyear HTs and I ran them 73,000 miles and at least 6 yrs. When I got new tires, there was enough tread on the goodyears a guy gave me $150 dollars for them.
If I remember right, they were 235/75r/15s

I bought used tires from junkyards a couple of times in the 1970's. Some of them were likely pretty old. "New" recaps for snow tires. I believe the junkyard tires were usually $8, a tire. About the same as a "new" Deka rebuilt battery.

I had an '88 Dodge D150 some years ago. When I got a set of new tires, the shop put on a set BF Goodrich Long Trails in LT 235/75/15. After 40k miles they had little discernable wear at the time I sold the truck. Wet road and snow traction was abysmal.

Original Michelin spare in the trunk of my 2003 Jaguar S-Type. Manufactured in 2002, made in France. It has done a few thousand miles over the last 21 years its due to flats. There is some superficial dry rot but nothing major. Structurally sound and still drives smooth. On the other hand, I had a set of 2010 Falkens (Made in China) on the car until 2020 and they all developed nasty bulges. Currently running Kumho's.

On the old hay wagon there are some old pickup tires from the 70's or earlier I'd guess from the fonts on the sidewall and tread pattern. They are so cracked you can almost see through them, but still hold air somehow. The wagon just goes about 1 mile per year on my property with some round bales on it so I'm not worried about a blowout. I wouldn't take them down the road though!

Bought a garage queen 2002 C5 Corvette coupe recently. Had 13 yr old Michelin run flat on it. They still had plenty of tread.

My neighbor was selling his Corvette, less than 12k miles, and I was considering it. It was mint, a real garage queen he bought new and almost never drove. It really looked like it had never even been sat in. Took it out to the interstate and opened it up to about 100 mph for a very short burst, drove around town a while and headed back. Went back to his house, popped the hood, talked a while, and then I glanced at the tires, sitting there all nice and shiny with plenty of tread.....they were the original factory tires. "Plenty of tread, they're in great shape, wont need to replace those for a while!". Oh boy...The Vette was a '92. It was currently 2011. I immediately broke out into a sweat knowing I had just driven a Vette at 100 mph on 19 year old tires.

Told him to knock a grand off for new tires or he can replace them himself first. He wouldnt budge, told me I was nuts. I bought a newer Vette a few days later, then about a week after that he called me and said you win, several of the local tires stores gave him a stern lecture, so he replaced them and we were good to go. Had to break the news to him.

2012 michelin LTX a/t2, this is my car. these tires are only on the rear and im in the market for new ones. they don't seem to wear anymore, just chunk off. and they haven't popped after some 30 mph ditch crossings (similar to hitting a curb) so I doubt a pothole will hurt them, unless it's the Maryland variety.

I believe it was this one. The set was about 12 years old. I had winter tires to go on it and the car was given to me by my friends dying dad.
I was going about 70 on the highway and it felt like I ran over a slight bump....went another minute to my exit and when I got to a slower speed on the off ramp the car was hopping like a person with a bad leg. It continued to hold air but I still had to get it towed.

I replaced a set of four Goodyear Invictas in 2012 which I bought new in 1992. The car was not used frequently and never driven in rain or snow. There was not a single crack or blemish on any of them. I replaced them because it was overdue to say the least.

There's a 2016 spare tire on the 2007 F-350 & I have a small 5x10 utility trailer with older tires that "Look" ok. I don't have the dates on the trailer b/c I'm away right now but they aren't terribly old.

The F-350 just replaced 4 year old tires b/c of a bulge in one (Broken steel belt). Tires have always been a priority for me. The longest I went was 5.5 years & 45,000 miles on a set of coopers for an everyday runner.

My grandfather would buy used junk yard tires & would run his 1986 F-150 down the road. I started borrowing this truck when I turned 16 to get to work. Needless to say the front driver side tire blew out going down the road at 60 mph. So, I learned early on to not mess around with tires. It's a safety thing for me & others on the road.

Not sure. I know I have a 20 year old spare on our CRV--I know I asked the shop to rotate that off and put one of the well-worn (but much newer) tires onto the spare when I bought a new set of tires. In hindsight I should have just bought 5 tires and started a routine of doing 5 wheel tire rotations on that vehicle (it's AWD after all), but I've never done that in the past (my first AWD) and I just wasn't thinking.

Now used? I don't think I've had older than 10. Usually I wear them out much faster than that. :) On used vehicles that I get, they need tires or I get snobbish and want something better anyhow.

I just changed the 2001 dated Michelìn Pilot Exaltos on my 88 Ford Escort, they weren't worn or drt rotted but i figured it was time lol

Also in 2019 i changed the Yokohana S306s from 2000 on my 75 Ford Capri, also neither worn or dry rotted.

1959 good year hi miler commercial on my 1959 camper. One finally shreaded last summer gonna see how many nore years i can get out of the other

If you’re riding on tires over 10yrs old you don’t love yourself as much as I love myself… I just replaced a good looking set of 2014 mfg Goodyears that were installed new on my Ram end of 2018 just because they were 9 years old…
lol... so... it's only if it's a little bit longer than you. Okay that's fair enough!

I replace tires for two reasons. Tread worn or won't hold air. I accept airing them up when temps drop but otherwise loss of much air between winter and next winter is a sign they're due for it. I've usually experienced that happening around 11 years old if a vehicle was mostly parked outside where UV exposure took its toll, if treadwear didn't end their life sooner.

Vehicles that spend most of their life in a garage, I'll easily get 15 years out of tires before I start to question them, but of course if the tires have tread at that age, it's because it's not driven a lot.

I had installed my 22-23 yrs old set of UNIROYAL Steel Belted Radial (RWL) from the Firebird in my signature. These tires came on all TransAm, Formula & Z28 of that generation.

These UNI's were the OE tire that came on my Firebird FORMULA in my signature that I had removed in 1988 in favor of some
Good/Year EAGLE GT (OWL). Needless to say, I drove on these Eagle GT's for 24 years as well before throwing them out to pass NYS.

I had stored these UNIROYALs for whatever reason?🤷‍♂️ However, In 2012 I needed to pass NYS Inspection so I threw on the UNI's once again and ran then for one full season & car shows.

I am currently running on Firestone FIREHAWK INDY 500 from 2013.
