Wonder how the additive package will compare to TGMO 0w16 SP?

Interesting. Thanks for the post. I wonder why 0W-8 and not 0W-16 which is already in use with some of their vehicles.
Fuel savings. There is a interview with one of the Toyota design engineers floating around somewhere from a few years ago, where he says basically that - that there looking at 0W-8 for improved fuel mileage.

:giggle:

As I have stated on these pages, Toyota has taken numerous measures to control temperatures.

Expect A25A-FXS engines in other models such as RAV4 and Lexus to follow suit.

The owner's manual is not online yet... so I'm curious about temporary substitutions... like how the 0w-16 mentions 0w-20 can be used for 1 OCI if 0w-16 is not available on the 0w16 dynamic force engines

Coolant capacity would be interesting. Imagine 3 radiators and 10 gallons of coolant with electric water pumps. ;)
Is that just your fantasy or does the car actually use multiple radiators and multiple gallons of coolant? I tend to think not, at least WRT the amount of coolant, but multiple radiators have been used before.

I just made that up but if these engines are using 5 quarts of 0w8 I would think keeping oil temps in check via /high efficiency coolant system would be a must.

Perhaps Toyota is employing oil coolers instead and total oil capacity is say 6 quarts?

Nothing would be based on mechanical need, only whatever would be consistent with their fuel economy requirements.

Oh, I agree with that completely. Toyota has been using coolant temperature management for several years now, and it's a well-known concept that AFAIK, has been used on several marques (but don't ask me which ones).

Toyota has developed a way to adjust cooling for certain parts of the engine and direct coolant to various specific areas of the engine that need it.
