labor is cheap in these countries as are the safety regulations to get them back on the road. i have watched many of his vids and while he is a great body repair guy, i think the people that own the cars he fixes don't bother to put back the air bags and other safety devices.

lot of the cars come from the US as totaled wrecks . Buy them and send them over there to be rebuilt and sold in the euro market.

His repairs are really cool to watch, he does great work.

At some point I do wonder if it’s even worth the trouble repairing something this far gone. Economically and environmentally speaking.

It looks to be a first gen CLS 63 AMG which was made from 2006 to 2010 so the car is getting up there in age. The thing to remember is wages in Russia are really low (the per capita GDP of Russia is roughly 1/6th of that in the US) and it's one man shop doing the work. Also I should note that from owning a old Benz it seems that Ruskies love their Benz's probably more than any other country out there.

I find myself wondering why they used the jaws of life on this car when it appears that any of those doors will could be pulled open with ease.

You could pick up an E class AMG for 15-20k with a similar engine. Only thing is, those early 2007-2011 engines had weak head bolts so the first question people would ask is if the head bolts were done. There's a few other issues with the engine too but the weak head bolts can cause it to blow a head gasket and then the engine is ruined and a replacement one was about 25k at one point from the dealer, even used was about 10k. But with 475hp, it's no slouch.
