The New Fram Ultra......

How many here go to Starbucks?
I don't see where that analogy is going or how it's relevant to the matter that first brands has clearly cut the quality of the filter and the price seems to be increasing, so get out of here with that, cut your $5 cup of cofee non-sense, because what else we're spending money on isn't the problem here, it's First Brands cutting the quality of products and apparently increasing the price and giving us long term customers the shaft.

Okay then, how many have submitted complaints to FRAM voicing concerns over the new filter design? Beating each-other up on a public forum won't get their attention, but a few thousand complaints coming in over email, phone, and regular mail, just might. 🤷‍♂️

I sent a respectful e-mail (6 days ago) to Fram and never received a response. I'm a 3rd gen Fram user too!

Fram doesn't really care and would never cancel a change like this because of complaints ... typical big business money decisions going on.

A few times a month I meet friends at SB. But, I bring my own bottled water. It's rare to buy there. Actually, I tried to get a muffin and there are supply issues.

@ZeeOSix @Ascent Filtration Testing Guys, Lets start a gofundme page to cover the cost of testing the new and old Fram ultra filters and put all the speculations to rest. I am sure lot of BITOGers will be happy to contribute !
Fram gave the numbers already, they are in this thread. What is going to happen to those numbers? They are still there. Even if everyone pretends they aren't there, they are still there. The new filter media filters better, according to the people who made it.

In my humble opinion: The new engineered (Ultra 2.0) must prove itself, as it's predecessor has in various applications. There is a plethora of historical data for the wired back depth media in Ultra version 1.0.

Went to the local walmart they had (3) of the older style wire mesh left in my application (3387a), unfortunately all three had been opened and two had ripped cardboard boxes. I might try the tough guard for two 5,000 oil changes, seems like a good value at that rate.
