The New Fram Ultra......

I mean for the Purolator page where it's published. I'm looking at the graphs right now, that's some awesome work he did. I think I'm gonna try out the Fram FS filters, maybe they kept the wire backing.
Look at post #196 ... clearly explained where it's at and gave the Purolator website link.

Maybe ... but again, don't know why Fram would complicate things and continue to produce two media configurations when they are focused on a new one. It however will probably be easier to find old stock FS filters than the regular Ultra line.

I don't think they are hot sellers, so I will use of those AAP points I got racked up and buy everything I can. It's a **** good filter. Sorry for asking twice by the way, I see you edited your post and included the link. Thank you. :)

And yet, directly from their website on the previous Ultra click on (#3)Media tab "2-ply synthetic, metal-screen-reinforced media provides 99%+ filtration efficiency.*" Then...........

"Traps and holds more than double the dirt of typical retail brand oil filters. **
Rigid metal-screen support offers outstanding pressure resistance and flow spacing."

https://www.fram.com/products/consumer-products/oil-filters/fram-ultra-syntheticsup-sup-oil-filter/

It 'seems' First Brands attempting to rewrite history by disparaging the previous Ultra to make the current "appear" superior. smh.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This is exactly right in my opinion.....

Gold paint with Ultra name.. tough guard filter selling for the premium price.

Shanaigans...

So, we arrived at deceptive advertising practices now. Nice work FRAM markeding departnemnt...

I hope you find this comforting, I recently ordered two RP 10-2867 filters from Amazon and the latest version has a Champ baseplate and e-core.
I was just scoping out Royal Purple Direct to order some filters from there.

I just stopped by AAP and their FRAM FS filters have the "whire backing" with the "perfect seal" line on the boxes, meaning that they're the "new" generation of filters. Oh boy...

When a company hides behind "proprietary" testing information, they are hiding something.

Just like I said with WIX, if it was good they would the shouting it from the roof tops.

(I said this to them in my last reply)

They also seem to be dodging my question about if the holding capacity is the same or better.

The Titanium filters have been out for at least a year or two and most of what you would currently see at any AAP are going to use the same media as the Trico Ultras, meaning that they will have wire back synthetic media. The differences between the Titanium and Ultra are that the Titanium has grip material all over the can, it has larger baseplate holes, and it has a thicker gasket on the baseplate. Jargon on the box doesn't matter beyond those three things.

Thank you so much for this information, that's actually reassuring to know.

I actually really like these filters in ST and FramDrive guise. K&N uses them too and M1 used them prior to the PuroBoss switch. No issue here.

Just went to local Walmart. Two XG7317, but new style. The XG10575 was mixed, old ones in the back.

Also saw this, typical Walmart shenanigans.

Hmmm-the ST 20K filter for $5.84 & K&N Silver filters look very similar-does RP mention any efficiency at all? Those $3.01 PS-1010 K&N Silvers are looking better all the time! I did ask K&N for efficiency numbers on the PS-1010, all I've gotten so far is a "form letter" response.

This thread is hilarious and probably providing much entertainment at the Fram Corporate lunch room......
I don't think FRAM is worried. There isn't really anywhere else to go from here. And people are worried about how "synthetic" their oil is, when their filter is what's going to do them in, lol.

Sounds like my $5 Speedperks codes are going to have a new use!
