You do know there are three conditions to be met in order to avoid being called for intentional grounding, right? Throwing the ball past the line of scrimmage is only one of the requirements...the other two are there has to be a receiver in the area where the ball was thrown, and the QB has to be outside of the tackles when throwing the ball...on the play you mentioned, Brady was clearly inside of the tackles, and there was no receiver near where he threw the ball...that's intentional grounding cut and dried...

Actually it depends.

Inside the tackles: Pass must be towards a receiver.
Outside the tackles: Pass must go past the line of scrimmage.

I couldn't care less of watching "grown" men wearing spandex and running around with a ball. I want to see 3 hours of cheerleaders.

Yes, a 14 billion dollar a year operation. And growing.

It's for a good reason (the outrage, not the kneeling)...

I stopped watching NFL football. Most of the players end the game with career ending injuries. I think they are exploited by the owners . And attempts to change rules to make it safer, apparently, results in less fan interest. And I think you have to be nuts to want to sit in an outdoor stadium when the temperature is near zero.

Mostly a fan of MLB baseball and NBA basketball.

As much as many dislike it (me included) ratings of the Monday night game were through the roof. And the protecting the QB translates into ratings (big name qb's injured = lower ratings.

Don't shoot the messenger, but all is well with the NFL..I have totally stopped watching but friends who swore off of watching are back.

It's not just football for me, I just can't stand wasting an entire day watching a game. Just one game seems to take forever with analyzing every single play. Baseball I stopped watching years ago. The only thing remotely exciting to me is playoff hockey, and even that I haven't watched in a while. Most of my "millennial" friends are the same way. A lot of them follow stats, but rarely are they watching a whole game.

I gave up the NFL last year and have not missed it. I don't like the idea of a bunch of guys getting paid millions to play a game claiming that they are somehow oppressed, and causing a silly controversy to further divide a politically charged nation, just to line their pockets further. Nope, I don't miss it.

Other than auto racing, and maybe the Olympics, I'm not into TV sports much anymore. My friends who still love the NFL don't seem too enthusiastic about it these days, either. I think part of it is that the controversy isn't within the game itself, and there are no huge marquee names right now.

I was flipping the channels Sunday and Rodney Harrison (?) was going off about the Matthews penalty. Then they showed the replay.

Matthews successfully moved his head out of the way and hit the QB with his shoulder for a perfect sack. No pile driving, no pushing his weight on top of the QB. And he was flagged for Roughing the Passer.

Absolutely pathetic and ridiculous. How can you guys watch this [censored]? It is literally unwatchable.

The NFL has reached their goal of parity.....all mediocre. College football has much more action. Then there are the announcers who are terrible. Did you ever see bigger idiots than last night MNF crew?

I don't know why people want to see players get hurt. The rule changes are needed and should continue to change to protect defenseless players. I'd like to see the quarterback downed on touch only. Look at how many have been injured.

Do that and you might as well call it the powder puff league...

The world is getting less macho as we get more civilized. You think that's a bad thing?

I'd hate to see Brady not get his 6th and 7th ring because of some hit by a thug.

The AFL is real football. I wish it was easier to watch in the US. No pads or helmets, no time outs, and a bigger field.

Isn't it Collingswood vs West Coast for the Grand Final?

Yes I do. The sissification of our society is destroying it. There's a difference in being more civilized and being a sissy. I'd hate to see Brady get another ring, he's got enough...

I'm not understanding what a sissy is.

Maybe your team could get participation trophies or rings or something.

If things keep going the way they are, all of the teams will soon be getting participation trophies...
