Ruger RXM. 250 rounds. First impressions

I received the full grip last night. It feels great in the hand, kind of blocky yet rounded in the right places, my preference (and what I hate about my full-grip Dagger S that's too rounded). The stippling is a good middle-of-the-road texture.

Grab-A-Gun is selling RXM's for $350 now (as are a few other retailers) so I'll have to finally pull the trigger on one.

I finally picked up my RXM from the FFL today. The 'stealth gray' grip is actually a nice darker bluish-gray color than pictures of it suggest. Had I seen it in person first I might have been tempted to buy the full grip I ordered weeks ago in gray instead of black. Oh well. The black full grip has been installed and looks great. I also bought two 17-round Magpul mags that I really didn't need just to keep it sorta OEM. The compact gray grip and 15-round mags will be going up on the local gun trader site to recoup some costs since I'll never use them.

I also installed a Holosun SCS Carry-GR green dot mounted with a DPP Titanium indexing/filler plate. It uses the slide's dowel pin holes but not the dowels themselves. It fits perfectly and looks OEM. The sights aren't too tall and co-witness through the low-mounted Holosun in the window's lower 1/4 which is basically perfect.

The chassis system is pretty slick. It came apart and went back together easily, just a bit tight since everything's new. The trigger feels good (to me at least), heavy-ish and clicky and tactile which is my preference. We'll see how it shoots.

My only gripe so far is the grip. I thought it was great when I first got it but now that I've handled it, the 'half-octagon' shape to the front strap is a bit irritating to my uncalloused fingers. One of the stippled ridges needs to be knocked down a little with a file and it should be fine afterwards. There's also some rough spots and molding flash that needs some cleaning up.

I put 150 rounds through my new RXM at the range today and I really like it. It took a little too long to get the Holosun somewhat dialed in (not the gun's fault) but once I did I was able to shoot it well. I like it more than my gen5 G17 and way more than my Dagger. I'm glad I bought it for sure.

And now Ruger's released both full grip 4" barrel models (which I should have just waited for) and full grip 4.5" barrel models.

Interesting thing I found out yesterday.

Palmetto State Armory is releasing a whole new line of firearms for 2026, the 'AXR' series. Their new pistols are based on a chassis system that looks to be identical to the Ruger RXM's, and as stated in the video below, PSA's grip modules will be interchangeable with the RXM's. Their FCU shown at 4:09 looks like a copy of Ruger's. Not identical (the trigger shoe is different for example) but very close.

Another interesting tidbit: PSA will be making grip modules that use the RXM/AXR FCU and Glock/clone upper but uses Sig P320 mags. Not sure what the point would be but interesting nonetheless.

I love my RXM. Absolute banger for the price. I did change out the grip for a black one. I have small hands, so not interested in the bigger grips. It's perfect for me.

PSA won't charge fee if you have it sent to one of their retail stores. They have several in SC, but don't know if you're close to one.
You have to buy it online from PSA in order to not pay a transfer fee....correct?
In other words you can't buy from a different online seller and have them ship it to PSA and pay no fee which would make no sense for PSA but I have to ask?

That's correct. You can have PSA transfer from any store to another PSA store without fees. I believe PSA will accept transfers from other dealers as they are FFLA, but will most likely charge a transfer fee obviously.
