I would go with one of these:
OLEVS
Prob keeps decent time and worth every penny of what they are asking, but I tend to stay away from watches that pretend to be something else.
This brand has a few really neat pieces that don't pretend to be a Rolex.
If I were shopping this brand I'd lean toward one of those models.
Hard pass on fake watches for me. For me it's like buying a Ferrari kit car and driving around town with my Ferarri jacket and hat pretending to be something I'm not. But that's just me, some people may have different opinions about counterfit products.
OLEVS is a quality watch. Mine are a few seconds a day off. There are actually many brands that resemble rolex. I have been asked if I am wearing a rolex and I just tell them it is FAKE. None of my watches except my Breitling fail. The Breitling was sold at a high end jeweler and it uas used and recently reconditioned by Breitling. I have my doubts though.
I had good fun when I was much younger going to Tijuana and intentionally buying a fake Rolex. It was obviously and blantantly fake but the guy selling it kept insisting that it was real. Haggling for it was fun. Ended up just under $20.00 A total cheapie throwaway but it was plenty of fun for the price.
I'm aware there are quite a few brands that resemble Rolex and I avoid watches they make similarly.
Brietling uses a variety of movements. Which one is failing?
Return trips to the factory are always accompanied by some form of paperwork if this indeed happened then you will receive some form of proof of this and that work if performed no doubt had a warranty on it as well.
I look at these claims much like buying a car with a timing belt - no paperwork = no work and a reprice.
Its the navitimer. The jewelry shop is sending it back. It will be warranted for two years
Buy the real one for investment, wear the replica for day-to-day. The replicas are more reliable anyway.
Fake replicas using quartz movements might be a bit more accurate, but even then, they need batteries, and the clunky movement of the hands is a dead giveaway.
Look, if you’re gonna buy a Swiss watch, you should wear it and enjoy it.
Period.
Swiss watches aren’t an investment, they’re luxury. Sure, sometimes they go up a little bit in value, but sometimes they don’t.
Having something that you spent a lot of money on, and keeping it locked away, is a complete waste of money. It’s like buying a collector car to keep it, instead of driving it.
Spend the money, put it on your wrist, and enjoy it.
These are not quartz movements - I didn't recommend a $80 replica. When you go above $500 you get good quality stuff.
I don’t see how a Miyota is better than the real thing, then.
Either way, and I mean this sincerely, if you are going to spend some serious coin on a watch, you should put it on your wrist and enjoy it every day.
Take it off for working in the garage of course, but wear the thing and enjoy it. Don’t lock it in a safe.
I can think of much better investments than luxury watches, you know, like opening up an actual investment account.
The "investment" argument may work on your wife to buy into such a lavish purchase, but let's not kid ourselves here, most of these watches you'll be lucky if they hold their value, very few will actually appreciate, when accounted for inflation.
That makes no sense
They call them hyper clones or something to that effect, no? Miyota or Seiko movements, or sometimes better.
