Swine Flu!

She falls into the right demographic to be struck with the illness. There might be hope for those kids.

Today, more people will choke to death while eating lunch, than will die from the pig flu. The hysteria is a bit much, IMO.

More folks will be killed in cars today than die of swine flu yet we still all load up our family and drive with others on the road chatting on the phone and eating. Driving isn't newsworthy.

I love this Cash tune

Ah, so I am not the only person that watches that show. One heck of a season finale! I've kept it on tivo to re-watch.

It was actually one of the watchable shows (I watched it online, not on TV). Having a small budget especially meant the writers had to be creative and focus on the story line and character development. In my opinion they did a very good job, considering the considerable hurdles (rating-obsessed network execs and an audience with zero attention span and a desire for action only combined with lack of money for many good f/x) they had to overcome. The series also got better as the writers found and settled into their groove.

It is likely the show will not be renewed, at least not by Fox. Whenever a show is rescheduled to broadcast on Friday evenings, when nobody watches TV, it is a sign the ratings (= number of viewers) are abysmal. Shows that move to Friday usually die a quick death! Even though, BAG and one of the show's producers have said it's not over yet and the show may return. We will just have to wait until May 18th (?), when the network announces its fall schedule.

Why did T: TSCC fail in the ratings? Well, I believe people expected something like T2 as a series. But why do that? It's been done and a TV show's "legs" can't be top-notch F/X. The biggest complaint I've heard about the show was how John was portrayed. I suppose the viewers expected a 16 year old super soldier kicking Terminator arse. Luckily, the writers made the excellent choice of adding Derek Reese to fill that need. BAG is really good in that part, in my opinion.

The season finale, which may well be the show's finale, made sense and was interesting. It left the door open for a continuation of the show, although it would possibly be more of a 'Terminator: The John Connor Chronicles.' Personally, I'm hoping for 'Terminator: The Summer Glau Chronicles.'

I've watch both seasons in the past couple of weeks. It was in the wrong time slot.. on the wrong network. Stuff on that end of my remote just get explored if my usual suspects are yielding trash ..err..lower grade trash. Viewing on Hulu got me to buy both seasons off of Amazon. I've replayed that song scene quite a few times.

Yea ..but it didn't show stupid people doing stupid stuff like the other one ..just unprepared

Sarah: No one dies until I say so. Tell her.

Cameron: People die all the time. They won't wait for her.

I've watched it since the first episode. The first season was painful to watch. I wasn't quite sure where the show was going. This season was great, however. I was somewhat unprepared for the finale even though I knew there was something odd afoot.

As for swine flu, eh, looks to just be an irregular flu. I happen to have the inside track on tamiflu, and having taken it to fight off the flu in Jan 08, I can testify that it is a miracle drug. Unless the virus mutates....

Two things totally consistent in our society between scifi and infectious diseases. No one admits to either of them unless they're in the company of someone else who is also infected.

I often liked the sidebar humor that they threw in there. Some of the dead pans were pretty funny. That Asperger syndrome persona just provided too much opportunity.

They just mentioned a kid died in Texas.........

They say this thing is 5 out of 6 on the scale......starting to scare me now. Considering we are at the mercy of a vaccine.

Listen to the song. It won't help protect you from our Captain Trips ..but will allow you to accept whatever card you draw from the deck with less anxiety. It's a very moving piece of music.
