Honestly, I make a judgement call based on what vehicle I'm driving (my car vs my bike, vs my gf's car or bike, for example), and how much liability would be mine if I nailed them in the middle of the intersection when they pull out with no room to spare.
When I'm on the bikes, I will usually just go around them at the time of the intersection violation, blaring my horn, and accelerating like only my bikes truly can.
Guess what? My bikes get better mileage than their Prius does, even if they are hypermiling, and yet I still can keep up with, and leave traffic behind.
My car, on the other hand, doesn't get good gas mileage, even if I hypermile it, but its more on the fun to drive category than their Prius is, by several magnitudes. Passing a Prius in the RX-8 has never been an issue, and never will be.
Now, if I'm driving the gf's Fiat 500, then I wait for a good quality chance to get around them. Chances are, I'm getting the same gas mileage they are, yet I'm doing it with way more style, and fun points.
After all that is said and done, I HATE the people who buy diesel pickup trucks, and immediately modify them so that instead of nice clean exhaust coming out the tail pipe, they are spewing out toxic [censored] that burns my lungs. Much worse to deal with these genius' when I'm on the bike, because at least if I'm in the cars, I can set the HVAC to recirculate.
And here, in the Denver Metro area, there's a 65% chance that every pickup truck you see is diesel powered. They run better at altitude with the factory turbos, which means there's just that many more black cloud of death spewing morons running around loose on the streets.
The biggest losers are almost always driving jacked up white Ford's, at that. Don't know why, but these guys are always willing to force me out of my lane because their bigger, even if I'm on my bike. They just don't care about anyone else's life but their own.
