Snow started about 7am and has not let up. At work we had about 7 inches so we closed the doors and went home early. I don't think my truck is very happy at the moment.

When's the last time you saw that much snow in Apple Valley?....or does it snow regularly there in the winter?

It is cold and rain very hard in Southern California too. High today is only 47F and low tonight is 38F in Irvine, Orange County.

Where is Global Warming ? I like to have mid 60s in winter as it was last year and the year before.

We ocasionally get a light covering. Having it stick and have any noteworthy accumlation is quite unusual.

Headline from Drudge report yesterday--
'Artic cold snap proof of global warming'
--

This isn't verbatim, but it was something to that effect. Pretty funny.

LOL funny...

Its been snowing here in Lancaster, CA since 7AM and has not let up at all... just the past few hours has it started to become nasty out. I haven't seen this much snow here in about 7-8 years! When I get home from work, I think I'll make a snowman with my daughter

It is'nt all that cold a winter globally. While it was the coolest since 2000, temperatures were still above normal for the last 30-year period and warmer than any winter on record before 1974.

I lived in the Antelope Valley for 3 years and only got 5 hours of snow one January. I was there for a August monsoon that flooded EAFB though.

The truck ain't happy.

I had to see if it would start. My phone is only good for 30 seconds and it started right after the phone stopped filming.

The engine does not have any starting aid. No heater grids, no glowplugs, no block heater and no either. Near the end you can hear it getting faster lol

Yep we are getting the deep freeze in the Puget Sound area as well. Been in the 20s for the last 6 days or so.
Kind of warmer today but it is starting to snow again and the temps are supposed to drop.

Very unusual for this area to get snow for more than a day or so.

"Yeah yeah yeah yeah naw yeah yeah naw YEAH YEAH NAW YEAH NAW"

In the second video it's funny when the engine utters "augh" twice. Let the truck hybernate!

I like the picture of the truck covered in snow.

That's quite a bit of snow. You should take as many pictures as you can. Maybe hike up that hill again for some rare snow-covered landscape pictures. Get them in the local paper.

20's? Dang it was 11°F at Lake Joy yesterday AM! 35° right now, and spitting ice pellets.

I have noticed that unlike the vast majority of the people on this board (myself included), when Chris142 uses the word "truck", he really means "truck".

Don't stop posting pictures and stories Chris, I think most of us would secretly, and in my case openly, love to have a hobby vehicle like yours!

No two ways about it. Chris has one thing that almost all of don't have, "Single w/out children" attached to his marital status. While we may go in a different direction ..something just as novel is probably on all of our "when my ship comes in" radar. 2nd childhood? Mid-life crisis? Chris is getting it all out of the way now.
