Should I look for different oil than M1 0w40?

I have 2023 Subaru BRZ. I have been running mobil1 FS 0w40 for summer and 0w20 in winters, since Subaru needs twice a year oil change. I do about 4k miles a year so milage is not a factor in oil changes. I track the car in summer, I hit about 250F as of now, in future I might hit more but at that point I might get oil cooler. In winters, I don't drive this car when it's below 50F. From one of the youtube videos it seems like Mobil changed the formula on 0w40 which made it less capable? Should I look at Pennzoil Ultra 0w40 or should just move up to something like Motul 300v?
I think you should use 5w30 year round.. Then only change it every 5000 miles. Full syn for sure. Otherwise 0w30 year round.

Why does your Subaru run at 250F in summer? Is that normal for Subarus? Most (American) cars I owned run 195-205F most of the time, but on hottest summer days 215-230F.

I'm wondering if your cooling system is malfunctioning or inadequate for your climate? Can you get a larger radiator and/or oil cooler?

You missed the part where he tracks the car. It hits 250f when he's racing. That would also be the reason to not trust 5w30 year round.

How about 5w40 then? Penzoil Platinum 5w40 (USA or Euro) is slightly thinner than other brands of 5w40 I've compared specs on, but PP5w40 is slightly thicker than Mobil One 0w40 and 5w40 holds its viscosity (doesn't shear down) as much as 0w40.

I think Penzoil Platinum 5w40 would be ideal. I think it's made in both USA & Euro formulas.

Also, racing or not, if temps are going over 230F then upgrade the cooling system, IMO.
