Ford does not have overlapping vehicles in the HP market and the V6 versions make no sense with the “basic” market wanting SUV’s these days … So, GM drops the pony car but their sports car got better and makes more profit …

Tried to get a LT-1 under 37K for a couple years but they all dissappeared. There were a batch of them a month ago build on the lots - but all optioned to high heaven with "worthless" though pricey doo-dads like stripes and red brake calipers that cost a thousand bucks.
Just give me the six speed (a CAGS elminator kit) and dual mode exhaust. and that insane 455 lb-ft of torque!

An article on thedrive.com already hinted that it's coming back as an electric vehicle a big no thanks. I'm really shocked that GM has decided to copy Ford and will have a Corvette suv (all electric of course). I'm over it. I'm really hoping with the EU stepping back from a complete ICE ban as of yesterday the usa will follow. I don't want to be forced to drive electric vehicles. Plus I can't stand all of the arrogant Tesla owners which really makes me not want an electric vehicle.

I used to really like the styling of the late 1970's Chevy Camaro's and Pontiac Trans AM.
But those cars were classic GM - very unreliable, with huge inefficient 350 V8 and terrible handling.
I read on some forums that Camaro's would often break down and leave you stranded.
GM had good styling, but incompetent engineers and non existant quality assurance testing (in my opinion).
They were doomed to fail on anything they did.
It's a miracle that the Corvette was good. Everything else GM ever did was an unreliable disaster.

DItto. Just another "failed" plan (anyone can see) by GMC. A plan the gov and all of us taxpayers will have to clean up when they have lots full of them unsold and they ask Uncle Sam for the next bailout. Electric race cars may work 100 years from now when all the motor heads are dead and gone and society is used/forced into "total electric" life.
I rented one and found it to be a ton of fun, but not practical. I don’t feel that way about my dads Mustang. It is easily the better daily driver of the two.
The Challenger also had similar issues to the Camaro in lack of visibility, but was a better long distance driver, which I did in both the Camaro and the Challengers I rented.

Later on today I will send you an article from Motor trend magazine a few months ago or they looked at the new Acura Integra coming out but also the original one back in 1986. I'm sure if you looked around you could find the story but they said that the Acura back in the day was much more advanced than just about anything out there. I would like to see fun little cars come back that are economic sporty and fun and I don't know if we can have all three in the same sentence but I'm going to give it a try. I would like to see the Peugeot 206 with a manual gear lever a basic radio setup, sporty seats with lumbar support and make it under 20 grand. I'd prefer to be made in the South too to keep the costs down. I don't think I could get into a Geo Metro but I had written in one long time ago and the gas mileage on it as well as the Nissan Sentra 200SX and the Honda CRX and a few other cars was in the 40 miles per gallon plus range. I would like to see those cars brought back of course with some basic safety features as far as better welding and maybe strut bars or suspension braces and get a fun affordable car for average people.

I'd like to know just a simple question and I believe we get one of our members on here that knows a lot about power plans for Ontario, how will the grid support all this when we're being told now that we're close to the brink? We always hear these excuses that there are multiple ways to get power and energy and now all of a sudden they only want one way to be the only way. We cook with a gas stove sometimes and I asked why a few months ago and was told sometimes it Cooks better and more uniform in the pan. Electric's going to have a lot of problems down the road if not already. What about the people that live in apartment complexes that don't have plugins. What if your car runs out of electricity while you're trying to get somewhere? Does everybody just keep a Honda generator with fuel in the back just in case? I'm not against new ideas but I'm against new ideas that are bad and not thought out and all the pluses and minuses are weighed evenly.

The SS is a special car. We knew the axe was coming, which is why I ordered last year. Visibility issues are overblown, sports cars never have great visibility anyway. The performance is much higher than its competition. You nearly have to spend 60k (or more now) to get a GT in a TREMEC, and it still wont handle like the Camaro.
GM doesn't seem interested in building an affordable sports car anymore; they either wanna sell you a 24k made in mexico/korea crossover, 60k truck, or 100k vette or EV.

They are going to have to figure it out. We are doing more nukes here in Ontario, we are now looking at building more big plants. I think once blackouts and brownouts become frequent enough for jurisdictions ill prepared they'll be forced to address the issue. For far too long we've been skating along on stuff built in the 1960's and 70's.
