So it's been a while and I've completed a major tune up on my 04 Volvo S60R w/160,000 miles and have decided to keep her. So I'd like to get some thoughts on what would be the "best" oil in the world of there is no "best" oil!
1. Vehicle: 2004 Volvo S60 R - 6 spd. Manual
2. Owner's manual: 2004 when the R was introduced 10w 30 (model years 05-07 5w 30)must be a fuel savings thing.
3. Where I live: Maine
4. How you drive: Average speed 38 mph on my 300 mile a week commute (average driving)
5. What your daily drive is like: Round trip to work about 45 miles mostly backroads; no stop and go.
6. Whether your car has any known problems: Just completed major tune up with no issues.
I prefer synthetic and want to know if any of the so called high mileage oils are worth considering. I change my oil every 7500 miles and use an OEM Volvo oil filter. During the 7500 miles between oil changes the car uses less then a quart of oil
Just looking to see if there are any new oils out there worth considering. I've used everything from AMSOIL to Mobil to Pennzoil, etc most of which I've found at either NAPA or Walmart. Thanks.
