0W-20 oils are a redneck's worst nightmare.

Looks good to me.

I'd like to see this vs Mobil 1 EP 5w-20.

From the research i did a year ago, the Amsoil product is a step above Mobil 1 in most areas....The 0w 20 is interesting might use it in my new Mustang....

Great choice for a Mustang. Specs are not available yet for the M1 5w-20 EP though. I'd assume the Amsoil will be better though.

This new 0W-20 has some fairly strong numbers with the 9.0 cSt @ 100C, 8.6 Noack and 2.8 HTHS.

Should be a good performer in tough 5W-20 applications, like the Ford Mustang & Chrysler Hemi's.

I just ordered 2 - 1 gallon jugs and 3 - quarts and the cost was $23.10 for the gallon jugs and $5.90 for the quarts.

I'm sure it would have been less if I would have ordered in full case quanities.

Which car are you putting it in Johnny?

I wonder who will be the first one to run a full interval with this oil and post the UOA? The race is on!

Retired Pennzoil guy using Amsoil?

I was thinking of ordering some myself after I go through my ASL run. The Havoline though is only 8.0 cSt @100C. Might get slightly better mpg with that. ?? The Amsoil specs are awesome though.

I am going to try the Amsoil 0W20 in my wife's 2006 Element and will run it 1-year or 10,000 miles. Here Element hardly ever sees any highway driving, unless I take it out.

I am also trying some Amsoil 0W30 in my 2005 Element and will change it at 1-year or 15,000 miles. I do see some highway driving.

My son's 2004 Element will continue to use Pennzoil Platinum 5W20 and will continue to change it between 5K and 7K, and it does not take him long to put those miles on. Lot's of highway driving for him to go see his sweety.

I'm old, I'm fat, and I'm lazy. I do not want to crawl under these darn things any more than I have to.

"Amsoil could have called the oil 5W-20!"

It's my understanding that they have to label it as a 0W- if it meets those specs. The Series 2000 was intended originally to be a 5W-30--

The Series 2000 oils are stronger oils, with more (or different) friction modifiers. When they first came out in the 90s, they were well ahead of the rest. Now the calendar has caught up with and passed the name. Maybe the next generation will be 2020 or something like that.

If they would have introduced this 0W20 a month ago I would not be trying the 0W30. But I have it and I will use it. Which ever one gives me the best results is the one I will use. If there was a catagory called super severe, that would be mine and my wife's Elements. We will see.

Jeez, how many elements you have?

Honda must be happy. Check out the new Honda crossroad. Its a lot better than the element and should be coming to states in a year or so.

We have 3 Elements. 2004, 2005, and 2006.

They are a blast to drive in the snow and you can haul just about anything in them. Nice wide seats for our wide butts.

All three are paid for so I plan on keeping them for a long time.

Maybe - I'm not saying it would be the right thing to do, or maybe with just a slight formula tweak it could be a 5W - but that really wasn't my point. My point was basically - If a 0W-XX oil scares you, just think of it as a 5W or learn how close they are.....just so you can sleep at night!

Amsoil 15W-40 really is a 10W......but I digress.
