Hi again, less tired now. The deal went down as planned. $27,090 Msrp, and $399 admin fee. ...

Overall this IMO is a good Hybrid vehicle for $27K with a fair amount of premium features. I see Ford selling zillions of these once they get part constraints taken care of. I could see auto parts and pizza deliveries snapping these up.

Thanks for reading.
Which model is this I thought the XLT was under 24K with transportation (which is actually 60% holdback)
Is this a Lariat? You may have posted the A.S. Monroney for your purchased, but I missed it.

Tank and enjoy the new car.
Proof again that Toyota ain't all that and never really was. It just stuff if 80's legends.

It is the XLT hybrid with the Lux Package. I also added manual SRW, Tray floor liners, Co-pilot 360 and smoked hood deflector
-----------------------------$2325------------------------------- $155-------$175-------------$560-------------------$110

Plus the outrageous $1495 delivery charge

Has a lot of stuff for $27090 Msrp IMO
The Lux package includes power drivers seat, spray in bed liner, heated seats, heated steering wheel, 400 watt AC inverter, the fancy stuff in the bed(rails, more tie downs ect) , and a few others that I dont remember.

Accessories are being installed, picking up Monday

Before shortages, they would give you much of the Shipping back as it is padding.
The old $49 or $99 doc fee has crept up. At full list price it shoudnt even exist. But if the dealr isnt moving inventory
that are terribly short on cash flow and income. I sure bet the sales staff is feeling a commission pinch too at some places.

What is the pricey manual SRW at $2325 ? I don't understand the abbrev. Cant be sunroof given the crossbracing necessary to meet side impact and pole impact tests. Unless there is an open area in there to sneek something in.
Thanks, - Ken

one last question - what do you get with the LUX package? Is that Lighting or Luxury?

Reason I ask is its a really pricey "option". And its on top of an XLT trim.

Don't mind me, I'm 1/2 Scot a real penny pincher :)

That's nothin'. I'm so cheap the Indian is riding the buffalo.

Hermann: Best of luck with your new truck.
Ohh, and for those wet boat ramp scenarios.....get a front trailer hitch!
Seriously, I thought AWD was available.

It does have a tow hitch and 4 pin wiring for brakes. I am considering a motorcycle trailer. I can tow that just fine. Don't and at age 67, won't own a boat. It is my retirement vehicle and will have a covered bed and two back seats for suitcases for long trips. It's easy on fuel. In my driving scenario which rarely exceeds 70 Mph, sane people on the forum are getting around 40mpg. 80 MPH drivers are getting 33-35 mpg. The liar's are getting 50-60 MPG.

I would bet that the group of hyper milers that tailgate tractor trailers on the highway are getting in the 50+ range.
You know, the group of drivers that typically are either Prius or Jetta TDI drivers...
Now they will be driving Mavericks in the near future.

And if they're so large a disappointment to the truck buying public the price will come down.

history: I remember the Chevy LUV from the early '70's. The story of the first Nissan trucks brought to California in David Halberstam's book "The Reckoning" is great.
My point would be that there's always been a place for smaller trucks. For me, the drop sided (swing down) flat beds are the cat's meow.

But oohhhh...that Dodge Rampage!

The is the beginning of a small city PU that is not even aimed at the "Traditional Pickup User". Quit trying to make it feel ashamed it has a bed. I'll be happy if it loads some mulch, overflow groceries, antique items and you name it. Typically only use 3 bags of mulch a year. So far the only disappointment is the slower than molasses order process and the greedy sometimes clueless (an act ) dealers. They are almost ready to have an ST model confirmed. Even saw pics of a Maverick Sedan. This will be like RAM with sub models, under the Maverick brand, similar to the Bronco nameplate.

IMO all you see is a small truck that doesn't meet your needs, let us worry about its suitability for OUR needs. IMHO
And as always YMMV.

And don't forget close ups of the rear axle and associated springs....it'a always about the springs with trucks.

Car guys with money complain about wind and tire noise.
Truck guys universally complain about suspension. It is THE WAY.

You know that it is FWD and has no rear axle. It's a CUV with a 4.5 ft bed. It has a torsion beam rear suspension last used on the Fiesta ST.
