Sounds like a good plan. Will this vehicle see short trip driving, I think someone posted here that short trip driving was better when using Kreen.

I wonder if it might be better? Kreen flashes off which is what cleans the PCV system. OTOH I would imagine the longer Kreen is in the sump circulating, cooling off, circulating, etc. w/o getting up to temps high enough to flash it off, if that might just be better for cleaning sludge and varnish? Something to think about. Maybe a 1,000-1,500 miles of short hopping, then top up whatever Kreen might have flashed off, then another 1,000-1,500 miles of getting up to operating temps for a while might be a good idea? I'm thinking out loud that's all.

Actually when I use Kreen for 1000 miles it does not evaporate, maybe the M1 EP well dilute it and prevent from evaporating

Interesting... I called the "Tech Support" department at Kano Labs.com yesterday and was informed "NOT TO RUN KREEN FOR MORE THAN 300-400 MILES". Are you guys doing it differenly? Why the 1k mile use?

I was also told to use 1 quart of Kreen in my oil right before the oil change. So is this right? or have you guys found out it's better the longer it's in?

That doesn't make any sense because the instructions on the bottle say to add Kreen every 1,000 miles...

+1 And I backed that up by calling their tech line myself. Odd

probably like many companies, poor tech support.

All depends who is answering the phone.

The can's labeling dates back to the 60's I think, I would just go with that.

Ok well, now I'm concerned as to what to do here. Do I continue to add 16oz every 1,000 miles (although I was hoping to speed up the cleaning process by adding more Kreen every 500 miles) or do I drain the current fill with 16oz after only 600 miles???

But if Kano Labs themselves only recommend use of 300-400 miles, why would I run it further? I'm already worried about the impact of the previous 3,000 mile run...

If the can says to add it every 1000 miles and Kano Labs designed the can... see where this is going?

I agree but why would the moron representative say otherwise? It doesn't make any sense.

Thats hogwash. Just stop. Run it the way you have planned and then you can bash it. Its not goin to harm anything.

I don't remember what it said on the bottle when I had it, but I don't think it said: cleans varnish. I don't think it is an easy job for any cleaner.

No it doesn't. It doesn't mention sludge or anything else for that matter. It says that it's an engine cleaner. As an engine cleaner, I expect it to KREEN! Simple as that. I don't understand why people keep acting like it's ok that an engine cleaner DOES NOT CLEAN A THINK! I don't get it.

By looking at the first picture in this thread there is nothing wrong with this engine. You are probably doing more damage to the seals and the aluminum in the bearings by using all of this toxic cleaner. Change the oil and filter according to the owners manual and drive it. Your engine will live a long and happy life.

The main difference here is if your not satisfied they will refund your money. Sorry it didnt work for you but some of us have had luck with it. I bet if you email your pics to them you will get a full refund of the product used.

I used 1 1/2 qts in my truck and after lics showed the varnish was comin off in places oil hit regularly. I wanted it to be a one time add and then perfect results but the reality of it is that varnish is a bear.

It sounds like your ready to give up on it. If it were me I would try a HDEO for a while and see if that helps. They do have a different add pack so you never know.
Good luck with it

Added another dose of Kreen just now @ 600 miles. Will add what's left in the bottle @ 1,100 miles (third dose) and then I plan to run it until 2,000 miles and change the oil / look under the valve cover. What do you guys think?
