He said they will drop the SL formula in favor of SN..they have a new HPS oil that is between XPR and SN in terms of additives.... I'm still hacked... so do I buy the SL up or just get the SN when it hits the shelves.. I REALLY liked the way the SL performed in my car

I am sure the SN formula will be good, but there are some constraints on additives laid out by the API. If you like the SL then get it. It has proven itself. I am confident the SN RP will prove itself to be good also but we just don't know 100%.

zoom,
I would but I can only find it online and shipping drives the price up $2-3 per quart when its already $10.95.... no thanks

I just don't like the idea of the SN.
I'm not saying its "just" an epa emissions oil..but
EPA is strangling the auto industry.
IE Ford 7.3=18mpg
6.0= 18mpg
6.4=13mpg with fuel dilution issues
Dodge 5.9=22mpg
6.7= 17mpg with $2500 epa filters
Somebody needs to step in and say enough
Math: dodge 5.9I6 12k yearly=545 gallons @ $3.75G=$2045 yearly
6.7 I6 12k yearly=706 gallons @$3.75G=$2647 yearly
The emissions motor HAS 30% less pollutants but gets 30% WORSE milage.. add the complexity of the emissions [censored] and it isn't worth it
New oils reduce the good additives because of fear of cats failing...YEA show me a case that it wasn't an oil using "beater" that was destined for the crusher anyway
Rant over
