I got my Elantra for under $13,000. I didn't know a new Porsche was only $38,000.

I was not being literal in this.
But since you want it to be, it all depends on what your looking at.
The Elantra is a very basic 4 door model of transportation, but for comparison sake:

2019 Hyundai Elantra SE base price - $14,950
2019 Porsche 718 Cayman - $58,150

14,950 x 3 = 44,850, so closer to 4x the price.

But if you compare something like the Veloster N (Hyundai's high performance 2 door sport coupe), that starts @ $26,900. 3x that is $80,700
A 718 Cayman GTS Roadster is 81,950.
That is a "fair" price comparison and almost exactly 3x the price.

But I am not trying to put a Porsche and Hyundai in the same class, they are different vehicles marketed to different clientele.
I was just referring to the price/value/reliability side.

Typically, when ppl talk about Porsche its taken to be the 911. It starts at $114k. Cayman is the intro model.

I am just quoting numbers. Read the last sentence in my post.
I have no idea what the hierarchy of Porsche is. I had no idea I was supposed to think of a specific model when talking about Porsche.
BTW, according to Porsche's website, the 911 starts at $91,100, not $114,000. If you try to belittle people, at least get the facts straight.

If you want me to post "typical" Porsche things, then I can.

I have no little man syndrome issues, no need to "impress the ladies", and am not in a midlife crisis, so have no need for a Porsche.

Better? That is a "typical" Porsche stereotype.

Most people do not buy Porsche because of that. Does that mean that people buy Hyundai bcs. they have no clue what is difference between vehicle and microwave?

Porsche's are actually very reliable vehicles. If you asked my to choose between used Porsche or Hyundai that I have never seen, same year and mileage, and drive from coast to coast, I would feel more confident in Porsche.

edyvw, you love to pigeonhole and stereotype people by what they drive. Give it a break already. I've owned and auto-crossed GTi, Corrado, Evo, WRX and Cooper S. Have also owned Corolla, Protoge, Accord, Sonatas and Santa Fe. Manuals, Automatics and Dual Clutch. Ive enjoyed them all and don't see myself as less knowledgeable, enthusiastic or passionate for owning one over the other.

Dude- lighten up! -
I think your response does indicate you have a small man syndrome and you probably don't impress ladies! Nobody is belittling you.

Yes, you should feel more confident, paying $78,100 to $101,000 more for a Porsche. However, other people feel confident, walking or riding a bicycle across America.

People buy Porsche bcs they are in midlife crisis.
People buy Hyundai bcs they think it is microwave.
I am just answering on stereotyping people who buy Porsche.
I drive too microwave, and there is reason for it. Same like there is a reason why someone buys Hyundai. But just bcs it is Porsche, and costs so much, does not mean that people are buying it just to impress.
In the end of the day, if there were no cars like Porsche, how would technology trickle down to Hyundai & Co?

This cannot be further from the truth, and it is an utterly ridiculous statement.

I love combination microwave-convection ovens the best. In truth Hyundai got better when they bought KIA, which had better reliability statistics than Hyundai..... AND Porsche, at the time.
