Do you get offended when someone passes you?

I don't mind at all since if they pass me they will be speeding.

What I don't like are the "Leapfroggers" who pass you and then slow down so you have to re-pass them, and then wolla, here they come like a bat out of the cave and pass me again and then start the same old routine.

I had a guy do that to me last year and the last time he passed I mean he was really pushing it. About 100 yards behind him happened to be this black sports car. Yep, you guessed it, it was an unmarked HP and the lights went on real quick. Priceless!

i have been known to drive "above the law" at times. so as i got mad at the police, i thought the best way to stop them. was to drive so they cant wright you a ticket. so i changed my driving so i violate NO laws. keeping them from getting my money. think about it

My theory is that the amount of road rage displayed is inversly proportional to the IQ level of said driver.

That being said I don't care if someone passes me. I'd rather them pass me than ride on my butt, weave in and out, back off, and then ride me again. Pass or no pass, just don't take forever to do it with your headlights in my mirror and your hood pushing my rear.

People who are really slow I hurry up and pass with no issue. I hate the trucks that ride you and act like big shots. Brights in the rear view are a big no-no. If the guy doesn't turn off his brights when he's riding me, you bet your [censored] I'm going to hit my brakes hard every now and then to give him the message that I'm not going to go 80, so I go the speed I want to comfortably, and then flick my brights on when he passes me and keep them on as long as I deem fit. No respect? Drink your own medicine, buddy!

I only save that behavior for genuine jerk-offs.

I'll send you photos.

Heck, I don't care if somebody passes me. If I am driving in the right hand lane going the speed limit let them all pass. And I can laugh when I see them get stopped by State Patrol.

Where I live you better think twice about speeding. Because the Colorado State Patrol and local police and sheriff department patrol the roads pretty well. If you are speeding you will get caught. It is just a matter of time.

I don't like for someone to tailgate me especially when it's a residential or suburban road with no other cars (not stop and go driving)and I'm going the speed limit or 5 mph over. I find it disrespectful and aggressive to tailgate in that situation. Usually it's a female driver tailgating though.

I'll never forget it - this hot doggin' kid/guy/female/whatever in a red Mustang decides they want to go incredibly more than the 25mph speed limit. I'm going 26-27...you know, above the margin a bit to satisfy this guy's urges. He's riding my bumper like a wanker. So he backs off, revs his engine and floors it past me, ZOOOM must have been going 40 or so. He zips through a 15 mph school zone. Total jerk move. Copper sitting right there. WeeeeeewwwWWW lights go flashing and the cop violently pulls him over. The guy probably got the extent of the law thrown at him including reckless endangerment. Nevertheless as I drove past I pointed at him, circled the block, and then pointed and laughed again. At 15 mph. Sweet victory!

This. And they're talking on their phone.

All these hotshots with balls actually have vaginas.

My friend mounted an aircraft landing light in the back window of his van for situations like that!

A lot of these stories lead me to believe that we are warring factions out there rather than citizens of a single country just trying to get from one place to another. I am sure that a sociologist could have a field day.

Given how fast areas like mine are growing the traffic will continue to worsen and I predict that I will hear about almost daily road rage incidents as I hear about almost daily wrong-way crashes and drunken mishaps.

Could this be a symptom of decline, or has it always been this way? Maybe we just hear about it more in our instant communication society.

I agree. It's becoming a woman's (and rich man's) world.

Also people driving around with their high beams on and not dimming them when approaching or when behind you (usually tailgating) is another major annoyance.

Even worse is the jokers in pick ups and SUVs with their tall vehicle height and their headlamps in your mirrors. Worst of all is how they'll often when stopping behind you swing left and zero in on your driver side mirror with their head lamp. I have an autodimming rear-view mirror but it can't help with the zeroing in on the driver side mirror.

European regulation don't allow pick ups and SUVs to cast more light upward than cars, but US SAE standards do. Maybe we need the Euro standards for all the passive aggressive SUV drivers with their headlamp antics.

You're onto something big....only now are folks awakening from their slumber. This country stopped being a "nation" a long time ago.

Look out for number one, screw everyone else. If someone tries to get in front of your crossover sport activity vehicle while you are syncing it up to your iPhone, just ram them.

I think driving is how many people semi-anonymously release their pent up rage.

A Q-Beam would be perfect for that.

People need to be reminded continually that driving is a cooperative process, not a competitive one.
Even on a track, you're expected to give way to faster cars that you're not actually racing.
I could tell many stories of stupid actions by other drivers, but we've all been there and seen it.

I really like this statement. It pretty much sums up this whole thread in a few words. Driving would be such a different experience if this philosophy were actually practiced.
