I can't speak to the new Civics but the higher model Accords, Pilots, etc have additional insulation and materials to reduce road noise. For example, my 2011 Pilot EX-L is very quiet. It even has a thicker windshield designed to reduce noise.
My 2004 Accord LX does have more road noise than a Camry. I was in a 2005 v6 EX-L that was very quite.
Honda still makes great cars. Other makers have gotten much better. Before I bought the Pilot I looked at almost everything else available. For a number of reason I still thought the Pilot was the best in its class for my needs.
When I bought the Accord there really was nothing else that came close except for the Camry. Now, there are some really good choices in this segment.
