Blizzard in Iowa and Wisconsin

We're experiencing a blizzard 1:00PM central time here in Iowa. Most roads are closed or are being closed here in Iowa.

I had the snowblower out this morning and we cleared all the sidewalks and driveways from our's and two other neighbors properties. Recent snow and 50 mph winds have dumped more snow and covered our beautiful cleaning job.

Power went off for three hours but is now back on. I thought I was going to have plug in Generator. I hope power stays on for awhile.

We just got done with the blizzard. It's moving pretty fast, so hopefully you guys won't have it for very long like us. It's sunny and 43 degrees currently; yesterday it was 15 degrees with 50 mph blowing snow.

Getting hit now really wet heavy snow the snow Queen has its work cut out for her been out twice today its like a knife in a gun fight.

The snow at the lower layer was really wet and I had to go really slow or the Poulan would bog down.

Current snow is now powdery and blows around like talcum powder.

Snow plows are finally out now.


You guys in Wisc. stay safe. I have a friend in Platteville who's phone must be out. Haven't been able to get in contact with him.

Mostly rain here in Michigan my weather station shows 37deg. at the time of this posting, some snow in the north west part. More tomorrow i guess.

I hear they received over 15" in Delaware County.

Time to stuff the Muzzleloader and go huntin.'

It went through my part of Kansas last night. We had 40-50 mph gusts, but luckily it stayed warm longer than some other areas and we got a little bit of rain and just a little bit of snow instead of all snow. The snow plows hit some of the few drifts that we had this morning and transportation is back to normal.

It is 50* and raining here in Chicago. They say this is longest in recorded history that Chicago has went without measurable snow.

Between Ankeny and DSM here. I had a 3ft drift wrapped around the truck this morning. Ive spent over 2 hours scoopin out the vehicles and little deck I have.

Yep! Thats exactly what I'm doing this weekend! I wasn't able to go shotgun so late muzzle loader it is. I usually just sit and wait either way.

I went to school in Platteville! Hope your friends ok.

We got about 10" so far and its not supposed to slow down til early tomorrow morning. When the plow went by today it just had a huge pile of heavy snow being pushed in front of it, not being flung out 30' like usual because it was so wet/heavy. I bet I had a 3' high pile at the end of my driveway. The toro launched it no problem though. Must be the synthetic oil.

I'm stuck at LGA trying to get home (on a 2.5 hour delay). Flights are canceled or seriously delayed. All the stuff for the next few days is fully booked so the earliest I can get out is Monday, if they cancel my flight.

I might have to rent a car and drive 12 hours.

Here in Southern Ohio, the local news says were supposed to get an inch of snow all the way down to Kentucky. But, according to the weather channel radar map, we are not supposed to get anything south of columbus after around 7pm. Wonder who is more accurate?

You're probably a fringe area, which might be worse since you're borderlining on rain/ice/snow.

I guess we just got the tail end of this storm here in southeastern PA. Heavy, steady rains overnight. The local streams are at like 110% capacity. Some local flood warnings on the weather channel. A wet Friday.

Yeah, I am at Boilng Springs PA; got here yesterday around 3p.m. Shortly after it seemed to sleet some, then just downpouring rain all night.

We lost power at 4:30 AM Thursday, and after about 15 minutes I fired the generator up. The house has been on generator power ever since, and will be for the next couple days. There are a number of power poles that feed power to the area that are sheared off. I'd be very surprised if we have power back before Sunday. This is the reason why we have a whole house generator.

We had a couple neighbors stay the night with us last night, and I'm sure they'll be back tonight. Those without generators have either gone to stay with friends or gone to a local motel for the duration.

We're toasty warm and comfortable, but there are a lot of folks out here still without power, and the temperatures were in the single digits this morning.
