All Fram 7317 filters sold out everywhere

I think in many areas it's just a combination of weather vs delivery and state inventory tax.
Here's a link to states that tax inventory. Existing contracts aren't nullified because a company declares bankruptcy or is sold to another. A judge would have to order that as relief in the case of bankruptcy. Most corporate bankruptcies are really reorganization to get debt under control.

"As shown in the map, nine states (Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) fully tax business inventory, with five additional states (Alaska, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Vermont) levying partial taxes on business inventory."

Lets hope it's just temporary and those who want them will be able to get them soon. In the meantime, if you have to meet an OIC deadline, I'd pick a good alternative. If you feel the need for the Fram, you can change just the filter later and top off.

WM is not a company that has much of any stock in their stores. they are more of a put it on the shelf as it comes in type. That is one reason they run out of stuff, they don't have it stocked in the store in a stock room. First Brands is is in a huge financial mess at the doing of it seems mainly one or very few people. I think the last I read they were trying to get loans but we're having a hard time doing so(imbw). The books were evidently falsified and it doesn't seem anyone wants to get involved. If they can't get funding they can't make filters. If you can't make product they can't fulfill contracts.

I've driven mostly Hondas for about 40 years. For years I used the Honda 15400-PLM-A01 made by Filtech and was a happy camper, was forced into the 15400-PLM-A02 when Honda chose the cheap alternative. I used Mobil 1 oils and their M110 and early M110a when they were decent and made by Champion. Then came the Mann-Hummel and FIrst Brands debacle and Mobil 1 was using a rebranded Purolator, I went back to Honda 15400-PLM-A02 for awhile, meanwhile, switched to Amsoil Signature and found out about the Champion-made EA15K13 which, predictably has quality issues. I'm currently using the new Warren sourced Mobil 1 M110a which is made in Vietnam. Seems like a quality built filter based on some evaluation here on BITOG. I'll probably stay with them until Amsoil gets sorted out with their Champion-made filters. Oil filters are back to Wack-A-Mole and " who do you trust " with a trust but verify mindset. What i really want is a US made filter i can trust with all the right check marks.

I wonder if other brands like AC Delco, SutperTech, Royal Purple, Amsoil, etc that are made by Champion Labs (who are owned by First Brands) will be impacted by the financial chaos First Brands is in.

Yeah but still, this absolutely shouldn't happen in any reasonably well-run company. A common size from a major OE supplier should NOT be out of stock everywhere o_O

Wix and Purolator are garbage, most cheap jobber filters consolidate to the shorty 6607, Full isn't easy to find anymore, and most online options either have high shipping costs or high price due to "free" shipping :sneaky:

If I could get it at a reasonable price, I'd love to try the Purflux LS350 which is the 15400-RBA-F01
For Full made filters, try Napa. They may also be repackaged as Altrom or Beck Arnley filters at Napa.

Bought two TG7317s Jan 16th curbside at Walmart. For fun I added 6 more to my cart for delivery just now, I just need to hit the button. I have several somewhere along with 6607s.

Maybe they've just shifted over to the 9688, I think they stopped the 3593a and thinking they've done the same. I have 97 & 99 Civic's with same engine, Fram lists the 3593a for one but then 9688 for the other. Honda has had two filters, the standard and then what everyone called the s2000 one which had a larger case, I think that's basically what the 9688 is.

Fram is known to manufacturer multiple filters that are all pretty much the same but with different part numbers, at some point they slim down the herd and consolidate them into fewer options.

My Kawasaki crosses over to the 6607/7317 filters, basically the same as the Honda just slightly different case size, I think these are longer and skinnier but the others are shorter and larger in diameter.
